Question about Honeywell Programmable Thermostat Heater

Fan Honeywell Chronotherm IV T8600

I set my fan to automatic. About once a week the fan setting switches from auto to on, by itself, and the fan goes on.

Once a week, at the same time each week, the Honeywell Chronotherm IV changes the fan setting from 'auto' to 'on.' I do not know how to re-set the Honeywell Thermostat to eliminate this spontaneous change.

Sounds like the fan has been programmed to come on during that time. run through your programming settings and make sure the fan is set to auto for all the times.

Why do my honeywell thermostat blow cold air?

Either your fan Tstat setting is set to "on" instead of "auto" or your furnace is going off on a limit switch when this happens it automatically runs your fan for safety reasons. Check your Tstat setting then check and change your furnace filter if neither solutions work time to call a pro.

Honeywell Chronotherm iv fan keeps running even when heat and cool turned off. How do I turn it off?

To turn the fan off, press the "fan key" until it says "auto". This will turn the fan off. When the programs scheduled, changes, the fan will go on again. You have to repeat the fan to "auto" each time the schedule changes.

Assuming you have the fan switch of your thermostat in AUTO, it sounds like a stuck Fan Relay. If the fan relay is stuck, your fan will continue to run as long as there is line voltage being fed to your unit. This relay could be an independent component or it could be an integral part of your control board. Have an experienced, qualified service technician check it out.

I have a honeywell III chronotherm thermostat /It won't turn on the heat or the air conditioning when turned to those settings, but it sometimes will when turned to "auto". The batteries seem fine, no...

it sounds like it is time to repalce the stat, auto is set to allow the fan to run only when the heat or a/c is on, the switch for heat and cool will select either, and the temperature lever should allow contact for the bulbs to bring on the desired component. there are no replaceable parts on a thermostat, or I would try to walk you through replaceing them. good luck.. I prefer the honeywell vision pro or the white rodgers 9500 series stats

AC, Fan-Auto, Fan-On... nothing works. the request from the Thermostat doesn't engage anything. Thermostat Dispay works. How do I know if it is getting the 24volts from the relay? I presume the display...

Open the air handler. Locate the low voltage transformer. One side is 220 volts input. The other is 24 volts output. Take your VOM and touch the test leads to the input to verify 220v in. Then touch the other 2 leads to verify 24v out.
If you have power in and no power out, replace the lv transformer.

My Honeywell chronotherm IV Plus thermostat intermittent problem

The Chrono Therm 3 and 4's were some of the worst products that honeywell has EVER put out. I would suggest switching to the Vision Pro 8000, please consult your local HVAC company for more information regarding the change over.
