The device does not reassign new IP address via ethernet
When I first received the credit card terminal machine, I plugged the ethernet cable to the modem/router and then the AC cord to the outlet as instructed, since I could not get connected, I changed the IP address to the one numbered for my location, now my internet service company reassigned me another IP address but the machine remains powering on with the old IP info even if I unplugged it from everything, it does not accept the new one, how can I reset or unblock this old IP address without resetting the rest of the programmed info ? please help !!!

Plug one end of a phone cord or cable into the
modem, and plug the other end into the wall jack. (DSL users: Do not use
a DSL filter on the phone line.)
Plug one end of an Ethernet cable into the modem, and plug the other end into the wide area network (WAN) port on the router.
Plug the router into an electrical outlet.
Plug one end of an Ethernet cable into the local
area network (LAN) port on the router, and plug the other end into the
networking port on the computer that you want to connect to the
Internet. (If you are connecting wirelessly, skip this step.)
Start (or restart) the computer.
Open the Connect to the Internet wizard by clicking the Start button , clicking Control Panel, clicking Network and Internet, clicking Network and Sharing Center, clicking Set up a connection or network, and then clicking Connect to the Internet.
Disconnect the power cord from your high-speed modem. Locate the Ethernet port on the back of your modem. If an Ethernet cable is already plugged in, trace the cable to the second device and unplug the cable from it; otherwise, plug one end of an Ethernet cable to the open Ethernet port on your modem.
Plug the unused end of the Ethernet cable to the port on the back of the router labeled "modem." Plug a second Ethernet cable into one of the open ports located above the "modem" port; connect this cable to the Ethernet port on your computer.
Reconnect the power cord to your modem; wait for the lights on the front panel to turn green before proceeding. Plug one end of the router's power cord into the corresponding port on the back of the device; plug the remaining end into any available electrical outlet.
Turn on your computer and log into your operating system as normal. Insert the installation CD into the computer; the installation application should load automatically (if it doesn't, you can find the application by manually browsing the CD's contents).
Follow the onscreen instructions; after you have made the initial configurations, click on the option labeled "Security Assistant" on the left side of the installer window. Select the desired security type for your wireless network and click on the button labeled "Next."
Choose a network key and enter it into the appropriate field; press "Next" and follow the onscreen instructions.
Open your computer's wireless network settings and enter the wireless network name, security type and network key into the appropriate fields. Save your changes. Set-up is now complete.

Open your web browser and navigate to 192.168.2.1; when prompted for a password, leave the field blank, and click on the button labeled "Submit."For optimal signal strength, choose a location for your router that will be near your computer, with as few walls and other obstacles as possible.
The phone jack must be connected to a modem, which is then connected to the router via an ethernet cable. To connect:
1. Connect the phone cord from the jack in the wall to the jack in your modem of choice. Turn on the modem.
2. Connect a CAT-5 ethernet cable from the correct jack in the modem to the correct jack in the router.
3. If using a wired connection, connect an ethernet cable from the router to your computer. Otherwise, simply activate the wireless card of your computer and select from the available wireless networks.
Hello, The cord you are referring to is a CAT5 network cable. The color isn't important, but they usually ship the routers with color cords to help with the installation. Typically you would have the following setup:
1. A CAT5 network cable that runs from your broadband modem TO your Belkin Wireless Router in the "Internet" port. (Port "a" in the diagram) 2. Now plug another CAT5 network cable in to the back of your computer's Network Interface Cord TO one of the remaining ports on your Belkin Wireless (Any of the port "b" in the diagram).
However, you will need to run the configuration software that come with your router.
Unplug your Comcast modem from your electrical outlet. Connect the Ethernet cord from the back of your Comcast modem into the Ethernet port labeled "Internet" on your new router. Connect an available Ethernet port from the back of the new router to the Ethernet port on the back of your computer.
Plug your cable modem into an electrical outlet. Plug your new router in an electrical outlet.
Reboot your computer. Click on "Start," then "Control panel." Click "Network and sharing." Select "Set up a new home network."
Click on the option for a router or cable modem when prompted by Windows to select your hardware. Your computer will attempt to access your new router. When the brand name for your router is listed, double-click it so your computer can configure itself to the new router.
Create a new name for your home network and create a unique password to prevent unauthorized users on your network. Your computer may reset your Comcast modem and router so your new changes can take effect.
