Sometimes to communicate between computer and printer, you have to make sure you have the right name brand printer driver or updated driver then do a test to send a print job from computer to printer. Sometimes you have to make sure your name brand printer is the choice chosen in the control panel of your computer.
Your question is confusing to me - they have a new computer with 7 and they have an older computer with an unknown system (you allude to Vista - not at all that old!) and they have a "classic" printer which they want to work on the new computer ... is that the sum of it?
My suggestion is get the old computer running --- tune it up a little with CClean, Comodo's RegCleaner, and Spy bot - Search and destroy. All free to download and freee to use forever. Defragment the drive using the windows defragmenter. After you get it going, update the OS (Windows I presume) at the Windows Update Site. Get the latest driver for the printer. Next step is to get a 4 port LinkSys router - and build them a network. You will be the hero (not that you arent their hero already ...)
Thank you, i have found a solution. I have installed the generic text only printer, then i installed the Epson TMU 220D printer & drivers and it worked perfectly. Remember that your printer (Hero TH82) is simply to open the till drawer. The generic printer is the one that raelly works. Hope that i have been of help.
