You need to download the printer drivers from the Compaq/HP WEB support/download page. Make sure you select your model printer and the Vista Windows version of the drivers you require and install them. Click on this link to download the drivers: - www.hp.com/#Support
If you check the CD that came with F380 printer you will most likely find out that it is specifically for Xp and not Vista. If that is the case it is not likely to install properly on a Vista system. so you need to download the Vista version. Got to http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareList?os=2093&lc=en&dlc=en&cc=uk&lang=en&product=1128296 to download the Vista version and install to your Vista laptop.
Go to this link http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareCategory?product=1128296&dlc=en&lc=en&cc=us Select the operating system you have on your machine say windows Vista, Windows XP, whatever, that would take to to the download page, under drivers select the HP print and scan drivers, download it and install that in your computer by following the instruction.
