Question about Canon PIXMA MP150 All-In-One InkJet Printer

Why isn't my pixma mp145 printer not working?

The power button wont light up.when the printer is plugged on only the alarm light lights up. it wont restart, the light goes off when the printer is unplugged. all the connections are in place,when i command to print a dialogs says the printer is offline.

You have to make sure the correct driver to be installed on the correct OS.. Not sure what OS you are using but below link might be able to help you to get the correct driver.

Which printer model you are using??
Example: For cannon printer follow the given steps....

  • Plug in power cable
  • With the printer power turned off,while pressing RESUME/CANCEL button,press and hold the POWER ON button. (Do not release the buttons)
  • When the Power LED lights in green,while holding the POWER ON button,release RESUME/CANCEL button. (Do not release the POWER ON button)
  • Press RESUME/CANCEL buttons 5 times. (Each time the RESUME/CANCEL button is pressed,the ALARM and POWER LED lights alternately. Alarm in orange and power in green).
  • When the POWER LED lights in green the printer is in service mode and ready for service operations.

7 beeps with the orange light means?


To fully reset your printer you can try this method. It works for most Canon Printers. It should solve any issues you are having.
1) With the printer power turned off, while pressing the Resume/Cancel button, press and hold the Power button.
(DO NOT release the buttons. The Power LED lights in green to indicate that a function is selectable.)
2) While holding the Power button, release the Resume/Cancel button. (DO NOT release the Power button.)
3) While holding the Power button, press the Resume/Cancel button 2 times, and then release both the Power and
Resume/Cancel buttons. (Each time the Resume/Cancel button is pressed, the Alarm and Power LEDs light
alternately, Alarm in orange and Power in green, starting with Alarm LED.)
4) When the Power LED lights in green, press the Resume/Cancel button the specified number of time(s)according to the function listed in the table below. (Each time the Resume/Cancel button is pressed, the Alarm and
Power LEDs light alternately, Alarm in orange and Power in green, starting with Alarm LED.)

Alarm lights keep blinking after I changed my printer ink.


E5 means cartridges error - to fix press the "stop\reset" button for 5-7 seconds and then release it.

You can also try this:

1) With the printer power turned off but connected to a power source, while pressing the Resume/Cancel button, press and hold the Power button.
(DO NOT release the buttons. The Power LED lights in green to indicate that a function is selectable.)

2) While holding the Power button, release the Resume/Cancel button. (DO NOT release the Power button.)

3) While holding the Power button, press the Resume/Cancel button 2 times, and then release both the Power and
Resume/Cancel buttons. (Each time the Resume/Cancel button is pressed, the Alarm and Power LEDs light
alternately, Alarm in orange and Power in green, starting with Alarm LED.)

ALARM light flashing, wont let me print.


hold down stop/reset button for 7 sec. If that doesn't work try holding it down for 14 sec.

Have a canon mp 240 keeps flasing P and 3 and the alarm light and on button are also flashing......what the it wont scan it wont print does any one know what this means


When the Power and Alarm lamps flash alternately, and P and number (error code) are alternately displayed on the LED, an error requiring servicing might have occurred.

Turn off the machine, and unplug the power cord of the machine from the power supply. Plug the power cord of the machine back in, and then turn on the machine. If the problem is not resolved, contact your Canon service representative.

I have a canon mp160 and the alarm light stays on. solid orange. this happens w/o even pushing the power button. i just plug the printer and alarm light goes solid orange

First, sorry for my english, is not my native language, but i'll make the possible to be understand...

I had the same problem, and i solve it.

If you ope you printer, only the left side of her, you'll see two flat cables...
In my printer one of these was torn. I just change this flat, and my printer come to life again.

I hope it help.

The printer is showing "waste ink collector full",not printing


Most cannons reset the same try this:

Power LEDs light alternately, Alarm in orange and Power in green, starting with Alarm LED.) [hth: I believe the power button has to be pressed once more after cycling the alarm button to complete the action. The power/resume-cancel button LEDs toggle to help you count.]
