Could be a defective drum, but do the reset first, Open the front door and hold the go button until the lights flash and it will be reset. after that just shake the toner put it back then see if the alarm is gone.If not, please do these steps..
Turn the printer power off. Press and hold the button on the front and turn the power on, do not release the button until the power is one. Briefly release the button and press it again, watch the lights cycle. When the Drum light comes on release the button immediately. This should print a test page. You may have to repeat this until you get it right. If that works then the printer is ok.
Mostly, if the printer is in good condition, this problem could be resolved by resetting the printer and re-installing the driver and its software.
If none of those works, then replace the drum. on that particular model it is a DR-400
Because I was getting gray shading on my pages and data was still being printing, I decided to change the toner cartridge. Now the pages are clean and white and all the lights function properly. Most cartridges that are running on empty don't print any data at all or at least print the data at the top of the page and gradually gets fainter sp? on the page. Who would have thought just by changing the cartridge would solve the problem? So glad that's all it was........wasn't excited about having to buy a new printer.
Alarm and Data lights on together is from low toner. If shaking of the toner cartridge is not helping, change the toner. Drum light is usually on because of the print counter. If the print quality goes really bad, change the drum and reset the counter by holding the front button wile the front cover is open till all lights come on. Release the button and close the cover. If just Data light is on, check the print ques, some jobs might got stuck there.
