Broken belt on Hotpoint Aquarius dryer tdl30p

Hi
The belt on my dryer has broken. I have taken the top off the machine and can see where the old belt went. I have ordered a new belt but not sure of the next steps. Any help would be great.

You neen to access the machine from behind you will have to remove the back panel and the tensioner pulled back you should be able to work out where it goes put it around the drum first though its easier

Either the belt is broken or possibly the motor starter has failed. Very often the belt. Be warned though, modern day tumble dryers use stretch belts that can be very difficult to fit.

Hotpoint dryer won't stay on

The belt is probably broken. Their is a broken belt switch which keeps the main wire winding from working if the belt is broken. To check for broken belt open the door and remove the screws holding down the top. Remove the top, then take the front off and inspect that puppy. Here is my crappy video:

Hi, i have a hotpont vdt00 dryer. The motor is running but the barrel is not going round. Any ideas?

Sounds like the belt has come off or has broken...you can obtain a new belt from applianceparts.com if it has broken...if not you will need to pop the top off and place the belt back on the pullies

Hotpoint aquarius ctd00 condensor dryer drum not turning in reverse direction, belt seems to be ok

The reversing tumble action is controllerd by the timer, so it could be contacts in timer.
It is useable running in one direction.
Check for loose or broken wires to motor as well.
Hope this is off some help to you.

HOTPOINT AQUARIUS RANGE DRYER DRUM NOT SPINNING UNLESS YOU OPEN DOOR AND GIVE IT A PUSH

belt tensioner could have a broken spring on it or motor is going bad. It could be a problem with the belt being stretched or oily but probably not- check first.

Tumble dryer makes whine noise but doesnt spin

Sounds like the drive belt has gone, and the noise you can hear is the motor going round.
The red glow you can see, will be the heater element glowing..
To check the belt, remove top cover, and you will be able to see if the belt is on or not, if you can see it round the drum, try to lift it up, if it has not broken, then you will not be able to remove it, and that means the motor or drum could be siezed, try to turn the drum by hand, it should be fairly stiff to turn, but not that stiff that you cannot turn it at all.

Please rate my fixya solution.
Thanks.
