Greetings my name is Mark and I will assist you. First lets get rid of the problem. Go to start then search type the file name of the router this may be the name of the router or the mfgr. then search when the files appear starting from the bottom right click on each file the go to delete and do so continuing up the list till all of them are re moved. This trial software is not necessary for your router to operate properly
Be mucho blessed,
Mark

Im not sure where the application is installed but I think its a built in feature of your Router. I dont know exactly where to go but you can try (using a computer plugged in the ethernet) typing "10.1.1.1" without inverted commas into the address bar of a web browser. If a password is asked for and you havent changed it. It will be "admin".

After you are in...bwowse to "Parental Control" and "Firewall" and untick the things you dont want to block. Then click save.

Try again. You may need to turn off your computer or modem.

Error code C000221 unknown hard error\system

Do these errors appear at system start up?
Did you recently install any programs?
If you did, uninstall the program, that should solve the problem.
If you didn't install any program before the error messages, perform a system restore.

Comtrend Are Junk?

Hi,
What do you mean your computer is freezing? If it's the operating system that is freezing then it's highly doubtful that it's the new router which is at fault. If the computer is slow and unresponsive then clear your internet cache, perform a defrag and also check the drive for any errors.

To clear the internet cache right click on internet explorer and select properties from the list. In the general tab where it says browsing history click on delete and follow the on-screen messages.

To perform a defrag click on the start menu then all programs, accessories, system tools and the disk defragmenter.

To check the disk for any errors click on computer, right click on local disk c and select properties, select the tools tab and check the volume for errors. Make sure you check both boxes to fix any errors found and then be patient as it cane take some time to complete.

If the problem is the internet which is freezing then perform a speed test on your internet connection and compare the speed to what your supposed to be getting. You can perform a speed test here >>>>>>

http://www.speedtest.net

If the speed isn't what it's supposed to be then of course get your own router.
I do recommend Netgear myself as i will only have them routers for my own personal use.

Regards.

Error in registry

The easy way is to make windows repair itself, this can be done by starting your pc from the windows cd, then when the blue screen appears with 3 options,
..install windows,...repaire,...quite ..F3,
press enter for installation, then F8 to accept, then windows setup will search for installed OS and then asked you to press R to repair it, from this point you can press R and wait while installer delete windows system files the reinstall them without loosing your installed programs.

I just upgraded my linksys 54g to the Dlink DIR-655. I have a dell desktop running vista, and a MacBook Pro. I spent two hours on the phone with Dlink help desk, the level 2 person finally said he thought...

its because you have to set the desktop up from the macbook while the desktop is pluged in to the router , from the macbook see if you can bring up the ip from there . these linksys routers are kind of dificult to work with i have one my self

thanks

Trying to set up d-link xtreme N dir 655 wireless router. Before the driver is installed I keep getting error 313: Multiple wireless adaptors detected. I have no other setup.

GO TO:

- Start
- Control Panel
- Network Connecttions

If you have more then one Ethernet connection (aka Local area Connection), then it needs to be disabled for the duration of the installation.

- Right click on "Local Area Connection" the one you don't use, and DISABLE it. (Be careful not to disable the one your router will be plugged in ;)

- Run router installation.

- Upon completion, go back and ENABLE your connection that is disabled.

...Sometimes I wonder why the engeneers that make those installation programs don't think of those things.

Cheers
