I had this problem as well, noise and cutting out. I found out that its only because you are missing one of those special boxes you plug into your phone line then it plugs into the wall.

Without this you will get heavy static and you will lose Internet each time someone calls because thise small little boxes split the signal. Mine came from Qwest using an Actiontec router and the boxes I am talking about have a little phone on them and they are tan.

You should try unplugging all your phone for 2 hours if you still have a problem and see if it is better, if it is, then it has to be what I am talking about. If your still have problems with it cutting out after unplugging all of your phones look for other things that are wireless (iPods, cells, Wiis, Xbox, PS2-3s etc.)

Thank you for asking for me by name but my answer will be much the same as it was when I tried to answer you before. It stands to reason that if you are using a ADSL router and it serves both your phone and your Internet service and your problem is with how fast that device seems to be working when you try to use both services at the same time that the people to call about a problem with that device is your Internet Service Provider (the company you get your Internet and phone from). I know of nothing that I could do that will help speed up that device with a command to that device. I realize you are unhappy with your service and your problem could be caused by a bad ADSL router (I have seen brand new routers/modems be bad right out of the box) and the only people who can replace that piece of equipment is your Internet Service Provider.

Good luck and I hope that helps.

Slow Internet/Keeps Cutting Out

Reset your router using the red reset button in back of the router. Let everything startup and test it. If the problem persists, then you might have to call your ISP or replace the router itself.

Slow Internet/Keeps Cutting Out

Hi try to test your internet connection by using a a eithernet cable and directly pluging into you router and computer. If your connection works fine with that connection then try to reset your router back to factory settings and use a new password just in case someone has been bumming off your wifi. also contact your service provider to have them ping your system, they can test the connection from their end.

Slow upload

Usually uploading speed will be slow in any type of connection. It is default.Uploading speed will be 1/4 fourth of downloading speed. So uploading speed won't increase more than that.If you fee your internet uploading speed is very slow,it is because of internet traffic.Try using internet in non traffic time. Also try to avoid many downloads at same. You can use latest browser for browsing. To check internet speed visit the site Scanmyspeed.com

Slow upload speed

It is usual that the internet speed differs when connected to a modem and a router. You have many possibilities to get signal affected while connected through a router.
Anyway you can try with these basic steps to get a better connection through router,
1.) Reset the wireless router by using the power switch on it or by unplugging it and plugging it back in.
2.)Place the wireless router in an ideal location. The higher it is, the better, but don't put it near metal objects.
3.)Get as close as possible to the router with whatever device you're trying to connect.
4.)Keep the router and your connecting device away from other electronics. You should especially keep away from phones, fax machines and microwaves. etc.,
5.)Adjust the Wifi antenna if it has one.
6.)Change the router's channel, especially if other wireless routers are nearby.
Following these steps would give you stable internet connection and also increased speed in connection. You can check your internet speed from www.ScanMySpeed.com before and after performing these steps.

I am using tp link td-w8901g router.my internet speed is of 384 kbps for which i have to be able to download at maximum 48 kbps. when i use internet normally, i am having slow browsing. the download speed...

If you are paying for a downlink speed of 384 Kbps you should be getting at lease around 300. First bypass your router - connect your cable/DSL ethernet line directly from the modem to your PC. Go to http://www.auditmypc.com/internet-speed-test.asp run the speed test and see what your download speed is.

If it's less than 300 call your service provider & ask them to check out your line. If they say that you are getting 300 Kbps or more, you have a problem with the ethernet card in your PC. Replace it.

Of course, if your speed is OK when you bypass the router, you have a router problem. Contact the manufacturer or replace it.

Internet extremely slow on one network, fine on the other

Not knowing if this relates directly as i am not from Australia but have you checked with the ISP.

The phone line providing the internet access may be damaged in some way or require calibration to reduce line noise (which can cause slow speeds).

Alternatively, have you got a usage limit that you may have reached. ISPs have the ability to throttle back your connection speed.

Thanks

Linksys speed cut off

First, are you connected via Ethernet cable or are you linking via Wi-Fi? If Wi-Fi the speed is alway slower (up to 54 Mps) If connected by Ethernet, your connection speed should read 100 Mbps. Once you have determined the connection mode and speed.unplug the wireless router and connect the computer directly to the modem. Now test the speed and see if the speed lag is still ther. If not, you have a routing /networking issue but, it it is still the same speed, it could very well be heavy traffic ( a lot of people drawing from the same local area signal., usually at specific times of the day).

Slow internet

If you have 3mb, you have cable internet right? If so, the cable company cuts your speed off if you download too much over a certain period of time. My cable company confirmed this. I can download all I want from midnight til noon, but after that... They will cut your speed off if you download more than a certain amount. You can call them to find out what the amount is.
