No Red Color. The rest of the color is ok.
Good day ma'am ur tv receiver is an LCD type and doesn't use rgb guns unlike picture tubes do.ur lcd is eguipped w/ a character generator ic and it is a part or built in your lcd missing color is an lcd failure or ic failure.since this two are attached together u must replace the d whole lcd.bring ur unit to ur nearest service center.
There is no red gun, one of several boards is possible for no red, welcome to TV repair in 2012.
Someone will need a schematic, signal generator, scope, voltmeter and skill to trace it .

I also have a samsung 40 inch. Try hitting the menu button on the remote the scrolling over to the right once and scroll down and hit pictures reset to see if that works. If it doesn't check your connections coming from the back of the source and the tv itself.

I unplugged all the cables that goes from the cable box to the tv and then plugged it back in. The color red canme back. It was easy.
