How do you change the pull cord on Craftsman P2 Weedwacker Gas Trimmer?

Easier said than done. You have to completey disassemble the front end of the trimmer, remove the clutch housing, clutch, control cables, etc. before the pulley is exposed where you can install a new rope..... If paying a mechanic to install a new rope, it would probably be cheaper to buy a new one.

Remove the housing that holds the recoil and whined up the spool and thread in a new rope

SOURCE: pull cord won't pull

Check the shaft to see if there is something stuck in there. You can pull the wire shaft out to check. It is wire but looks like a small cable. Good luck...Lee
