Question about Whirlpool Royal A-909 Bathtub

Whirlpool does not work

We just purchased a new house as is, and it has a Royal whirlpool tub...unfortunately, it doesn't seem to work! The motor doesn't even make a sound. I can't find a model number, just the name Royal. Any suggestions on where to start to find the problem? I've taken off access panels but can't actually see much but pipes, and a side of what I assume is the motor. Thanks for any ideas!

Thanks for the suggestion, but I don't think it's Nordic, and they had nothing helpful under their troubleshooting section anyway. But thanks for trying!

How do you install a new on/off switch in a royal whirlpool bath?

The switch is located on the back of the pump. If you have access to the pump and you can see the tube coming out of the black box on top of the pump you might have a chance of changing it without pulling the tub, If you do not have access to the pump, one will have to be made or pull the tub for repairs. If the pump can be removed this might also make the repair go easier. The switch is available at most pool or spa stores. If you are uncertain about doing this repair call a Jacuzzi certified repair technician to do the job.

Control panel has power but pump doesn't work

Check the volage coming out of the control to make sure you have 120v. It could be the control is bad.
Pull the pump and plug it into a 120v outlet. If the pump is good it will come on. If it is not working then it will not come on and will need to be replaced.

Where can I buy just the brass trim on the jet for my whirlpool tub (aker)?

The trim for any brand whirlpool (w/p) tub must be ordered from that specific tub manufacturer. They will need to know exactly what your particular model is.

The model of your w/p tub, and serial number, is most often, but not always, located on the motor end of your unit but not on the motor itself. Access to this end of the tub, if installed to code, should get you the information you need, otherwise you are out of options'

Only used my Royal whirlpool bathtub about three times

My jetted tub will not work, and it used to work just fine. Nothing happens when i push the button to turn it on. Could this be a switch problem? Also do not hear the motor doing anything when button is pushed. Dou you think I just need to get a new pump??

NOTHING TURNS ON, PLUG IS OK SAID ELECTRICAN

If you have plugged the tub into another outlet and the jets work fine, it is not a control module problem. The tub should be plugged into a gfci outlet. If it is, there may be a reset switch on the plug it is plugged into, or there may be a switch somewhere else in your bathroom that has the reset switch on it. You can buy a tester for about $3 or $4 that plugs into your outlet to test if it has power. Hope this helps.

New house, just over 1 year old, came with Royal whirlpool tub. I never used it. Today when I tried to start it, it just does not come on. I donot have a manual and cannot find one online. Any help please

First you want to trace and check if the unit is tripping the circuit breaker in the fuse panel of the main house. Next you want to take the top two bolts of the control box(within the body front of the tub) and remove them. pull the cover downward towards the ground. Next you want to trun a hairdryer from an extension cord(make sure your feet are well guarded from the wet surface should this occur. Using the hairdryer, dry all of the exposed components of the box and it's housing. This is precisely what a hottub repair reprentative would charge you $100-$150 to do, not including travel time. See I just saved you more than you'll pay for this info...lol. Put the screws back in and close up the body of the tub. You should be good to go. Thank you, Dana

The jets don't work..I don't hear the motor at all. Do I need to get a new motor? I have a Royal bathtub. The motor is next to the tub under the sink w/ a cover.

It could be the motor, but don't rule out the switch. If there is a small plastic tube that exits the back of the pump/motor, there is a switch attached to this tube. The switch is avaliable online and can be installed after removing the pump from under the tub so that there is room to work on it. To check the pump, remove the switch and tape the two wires together, quickly plug the pump in and them unplug it to see if the pump comes on. Do not run the pump for more than a second or two as pump seal damage may result.

How can I unclog plumbing in whirlpool tub used to clean dogs?

Depending on how mechanically inclined you are, take apart the tub and clean everything out. No easy task, I know, but who want old dog hair floating around? That will be your best bet.
