Question about Yamaha Full-Size Keyboard
Oh!--- Hello there, I didn't hear you come in! You can call me Anticonquistador. Perhaps you could help me out with a problem since you're here. The power adapter plug has been fitting loose in the female plug-in lately. I was playing the other day, shut it off and tried to turn it on later, but it wouldn't turn back on. This happens sometimes, so i just twist the adapter plug a little and it usually works after that. Not this time. The metal ring in the female port seems way too loose. I haven't put batteries in yet but i tried the adapter with my old keyboard and it worked, so it's not the power adapter. I don't think i have a warranty on it either. I bought it at a BJ's in Massena, upstate New York. I live about 10 miles northeast of there on the American/Canadian border within the American St. Regis Mohawk Indian Nation. The owner's manual says the closest Yamaha offices are in Scarborough, Ontario, Canada. I'd like to know what you think the problem could be and how much you think shipping would cost from what i've told you. I can post more details later. Thank you for your time.
If you know how to use a multimeter then I suggest you measure the voltage from your wall adapter plug that you plug into the keyboard. If that has approx. 9Vdc, then take a look at d151 on the power supply board. See if it is passing voltage. Voltage should pass only 1 way. If you have voltage on one side but not the other then the diode it is open and needs replaced. You can find the diode designator on the board next to the diode.

OK power conecter on the board went out YPG 225, so I wired the batter compartment, where you put the batters in. Sterat wire a transformer or go hevery wire and hard wire into the transformer. Hot wire to the + front, and - to the back of the batter box. Works great...I went to the # 1 batter + of 6 and to the 6th for ground.
