I bought a charger off of ebay & when I used it the first time it worked just fine. The second time I left it on the charger overnight & when I put it back in my camera, the camera wouldn't turn on at all. No lights or anything.. just like it's completely dead. I don't want to buy a new battery if the same thing might happen again. Could it be the charger or should I just get a new battery?

Re: Won't turn on at all
WELL, THERE ARE THINGS TO CONSIDER HERE. HOW OLD WAS THE BATTERY THAT YOU WERE CHARGING? IT IS POSSIBLE THAT THE CHARGER HAS FAILED ALSO. IF YOU HAD A METER YOU COULD READ THE CHARGER TO SEE IF IT WAS PUTTING OUT A CHARGE. IF YOU DON'T, YOU HAVE TWO POSSIBILITIES. ONE IS BUY A NEW BATTERY AND USE IT AND THEN TRY TO CHARGE IT AND SEE IF THE CHARGER WORKS. THE OTHER IS SEE IF ANY OF YOUR FRIENDS HAVE A CHARGER YOU COULD CHARGE YOUR BATTERY ON TO SEE IF THE BATTERY TAKES A CHARGE. I WOULD SAY IT WOULD PROBABLY BE BETTER TO BUY THE BATTERY BECAUSE YOU COULD ALWAYS USE THE EXTRA BATTERY, OR IF YOUR PRESENT BATTERY HAS DIED, YOU WILL HAVE A REPLACEMENT.IF THE CHARGER IS BAD YOU CAN RETURN IT FOR A REFUND OR REPLACEMENT FROM THE SELLER AS DEFECTIVE. MOST SELLERS WILL REPLACE ANY BAD PRODUCTS. YOU CAN ALWAYS GAMBLE AND RETURN THE CHARGER NOW AS DEFECTIVE AND GET A REPLACEMENT AND THEN TRY TO CHARGE YOUR BATTERY AGAIN. SO, YOU HAVE MANY OPTIONS TO CHOOSE FROM. I HOPE THIS GIVES YOU SOME IDEAS, BUT IF YOU NEED MORE HELP, JUST REPLY TO: ARCLIGHT1217

Try this, it worked for me:- Obtain a desktop style charger for the LI 70B battery and charge it separately from the camera. I got a charger at very low cost on eBay. I THINK that the original camera plus original charger won't cope with deeply discharged batteries. I also suggest making sure that the Auto-Power-Down is also switched ON in future. Good Luck.
Can you return it or exchange it? That would be the best thing to do. I've bought stuff from Hong Kong, but found it doesn't take long before things start going wrong in some cases, depends on the item. There are some serious issues going on with this camera, and it wouldn't be worth the cost of having it repaired. Get your money back, if you can, and return it. Look for a name brand next time, at least you can get parts for them off ebay and the net. Good luck.
The cradle is defective. Casio replaced the first one of mine for free then they told me to sit and spin when the second one broke 8 months later. I had only used the camera ~ 10 times. So, I went to a big box electonic store (Best Buy) and bought a Digipower travel charger. It charged the battery up just fine. I also bought a Dynex Memory Card Reader/Writer to transfer the photos to my computer. Good luck. The defective cradle is a known problem that Casio is refusing to correct.
Hi, Well it's possible that the seller was trying to charge up the power on the camera by using the USB cable connected to his/her computer. It won't charge this way, it uses a rechargeable battery (part number NP-45) and a charger (part number PC-45). It's also possible that the battery is in the wrong way, or that it is not charging because the charger terminal needs cleaning. Try charging the battery fully when it arrives, after cleaning the charger and take it from there. Hope this gives you some hope :D
ps Let me know how you get on when it arrives.. sometimes 2 heads are better than one :)
I've seen a lot of Casio chargers go bad, not charge the battery, and then this is what happens. I've been using an aftermarket charger and battery I got off eBay, and they work great. I've even used the aftermarket charger to "revive" batteries that the Casio charger wouldn't charge up.
You need a new battery. That battery goes dead maybe its a factory defect its very rare this to happen but try to contact the Company to ask if you have a warranty for this unit. One more thing make sure that your charger is functioning.
