When going to DTV menu it showed as "no signal" therefore unable to get the audio language, time zone, auto scan, manual scan and channel skip screen. What is the next step to get this screen to pick up airwaves?

Re: Protron 42'' LCD TV
If you need to connect to DTV,you must have RCA cable(video/audio cable, could be component video cable and audio left and right!) Also,in order to have that connect it,you need to have a cable box, directv or dishnetwork box that got the component video output. If you are connecting the coaxial to the TV,you are not going to have any signal in the DTV connection, cause there is anything connect it to there! solutiondoct

Your TV must receive a digital signal in order for the DTV option to be available. Since you are not seeing all of the channels when you auto scan then it can be assumed that the signal cable connected to your set is not providing the digital signal. Make sure you are scanning for the proper source of your signal ( Cable TV, Broadcast TV)
Tv is hook up to cable tv or free DTV air broadcasting?Have a good antenna source hook up or cable or satellite signals.Go into the tv menu go to SETUP.Go down to CH. press enter pick Cable or Air.Enter for scanning, after it done scanning will get all free DTV air or cable broadcasting channels stations signals.
U want free air DTV?Yes,have a good Digital antena or a roof antena hood up to ur tv.Goto the tv menu.Goto SETUP go down to Ch.setup enter and pick AIR not CABLE.Enter it again for scanning for DTV free air channels. After done the scanning u should have all the free DTV free air channels.
Your TV probably does not have a digital tuner connected to the DTV/ANT input. Mine didn't. I had to connect the digital antenna to a digital converter box THEN go to the DTV/ANT input. Only then would it activate the DTV menu and allow me to scan for channels. If your TV worked fine with Cable TV connected to the input, it was because your signal was coming from the digital tuner in your DVR, or your cable provider was sending you an unscrambled digital signal (not likely).
I used a digital converter box I had purchased with the government $40 coupon back in 2009 but the resolution is only 480 and looks like a Monet or Renoir. Now I am shopping for a high quality tuner.
I do not know if you will get this message but if you do. Here goes. The protron PLTV3250 does indeed have a digital tuner that can be used with an over the air antenna. You need to push "source" on the remote until DTV is selected. With this selected and your coaxial cable from your antenna hooked up to the digital connector (not analog) on the back of this tv you can then press Menu and you will see a totally different looking menu that you are probably not used to seeing and then from there you can do an auto scan for the digital channels and it works great. I have rabbit ears hooked up to this Protron PLTV3250 and this has a beautiful picture. Far better than the picture I get from just the standard digital Directv receiver. You do not need a seperate digital tuner box to use with this TV. It does indeed have an ATSC digital tuner and it works great. You probably are selecting Source "TV" in the menu and that is not what you select for this TV to use the Digital Tuner. You need to select DTV from the source menu. Good luck and please let me know if you already knew this or if this helped you. Thanks, Tom
THE BEST INPUT ON YOUR SET IS THE HDMI INPUT.2ND THE COMPOSITE INPUT. 3RD THE COMPONENT INPUT. AND 4TH THE ANTENNA INPUT. MOST DISH BOXES HAVE AT LEAST THE COMPONENT OUTPUT. YELLOW IS THE VIDEO AND RED AND WHITE FOR AUDIO. USE RCA CABLES TO GO FROM BOX TO LCD SET. ON THE DISH BOX YOU CAN GO FROM ANTENNA OUT TO THE CABLE OR ANTENNA IN ON THE LCD. SWITCH TV TO CHANNEL 3. AND TURN YOUR DISH BOX ON.
Go into your setup menu and choose channel program or auto scan. The TV should look for and program active channels into its memory at this time. When it is finsihed you should be able to surf normally. Otherwise you should be able to access the channels directly by entering the channel number on the rmote control.
