Question about Konica Minolta Dimage Scan Dual IV Film Scanner

Scans slides too dark.

My 35mm slides are consistently scanning too dark, even though I've tried manual and auto exposure and played with all the settings I could find. It used to work beautifully. I use Monaco EZ Color to calibrate my monitor, scanner, and printer, but the slides are so dark that Monaco won't even take them for calibration purposes. Maybe the light source has gone bad?

Help!!

I had red lines after running student art work that done with markers and mounted (this made it think) . I ran Clorox Disinfection wipes on top white paper through the scanner. After about 6 wipes the scanner now scans line free!

Maybe the slides are too dark, in other words, the pictures you took didn't have enough exposure therefore you it shows up dark.. You could always use photoshop or someother photo manipulation software to lighten the scan, same thing happens with my hp scanner with slide adapter, if it slides just show up dark, lightening it with software will help, unless it is unsaturated/shadows too dark, etc..

Hope this helps.

What type of film does a n60 slr camera use

The N60 uses standard 35mm film (also known as 135). 35mm film usually comes in 12, 24, or 36 exposure rolls, any of which will work. 35mm film is available in black-and-white, color transparency (color slides), and color negative (color prints). It's also available in infrared, both color and black-and-white, but the N60 will not work with infrared film.
35mm film is available online and at any camera shop. Many department stores, drugstores, and even supermarkets also carry film, though not as wide a selection as a decent camera shop.

Whenever I touch the operating button to meter, the "under-range LED" will not stop blinking. No shutter speeds illuminate, not even the one I have the shutter set to. The only LED's that...

Be sure your mode dial is not in the auto position. If it is, the camera will only function with the lense also locked to the auto position, which will either be the lowest aperture (highest number) or sometimes an "A" setting separate from the normal aperture settings. That's generally what this type of indication means on program/manual models - that you're trying to use manual settings, when the camera is set up for auto program exposure.

I'm trying to find out if the Canon Eos 3000N 35mm SLR camera has manual Aperture, ISO and Shutter speed control's? Can you help?

Although the 3000N relies on batteries for all functions and has various auto exposure and DX film coding modes, you can override and manually select all the exposure functions you have mentioned.

I bought this canon rebel t2 film camera recently and used film with ASO 400. Portraits look ok. but the landscapes, especially the sky area look dark and grainy. I used ef 28-135mm usm lens. Any solutions...

That's odd that the pictures would be coming out under exposed unless the previous owner has gone into the camera functions and switched the ISO from auto to manual. Another reason is that the exposure compensation has been activated and set for - exposure

Under "normal" use the camera will read the DX code on the film canisters and adjust the ISO automatically. However the previous owner may have shut this off in preference to setting the ISO manually. Even though you have ISO 400 in the camera the ISO on in the camera setting may be ISO 1600.

Checking for the Auto ISO and exposure compensation is fairly easy as you can see the film canister through the film window or you know you have loaded 400 speed film. on the LCD panel at the back of the camera is an ISO icon and exposure compensation.

Make sure the ISO for the camera is the same as what you have loaded and if the exposure compensation is to the right of 0 then the resulting picture will be dark. Move this back to the Zero.

I wasn't able to find an exact manual (if you don't have one) for your camera but have found a camera with similar. Here is a ling for that manual.

How to scan slides with Visioneer 9520 USB Scanner - it scans who

I have successfully used my Visioneer 9520 to scan 35mm slides, and they came out perfect. To do this, in my image editing software, I select File/Import/Acquire/Visioneer ScanManger Pro. This opens the VIsioneer scan manager window, where I select "Scan 35mm using:" and then I choose the desired scanning configuration, e.g., "35mm Better, 35mm Best, Custom" etc. See image below.
BTW: After several moves, I have lost my 35mm scanning template. Do you know where I can get another one, or do you know someone who could actually scan theirs and email the image to me? I could then create a duplicate from heavy black construction paper or card stock.

Getting true color on slide scans

Make sure you have the emulsion (image) side of the slide towards the scanner sensor. Some scanners have a special setting for film still in slide holders to correct for focus. You may need a photo edit program to help with color and density. I find no difference from 35mm to split 5x7s altho bigger is always better.

Scanned 35mm slide comes out as rectangle with dark edges

I've not ever seen "square" 35mm slides. By definition they are a rectangular positive film in an outer square "mount".

If you have a truly square piece of film then it is not a 35mm slide. You may have to use settings other than those for a 35mm film but these would be I don't know.

When were they taken (approximately)? What brand of film? Are they in a cardboard "mount?

Try the camera in the full Auto mode to see if it is working correctly. Also check to see that there is no compensation set in the exposure settings for both apature and speed.

Check in the instruction manual to see how to get in to these settings from the user menus.

If this does not work, the camera will need to be serviced for a fault condition.

Need operating instructions

This link should have user manual etc. http://www.microtekusa.com/ but unfortunately the site is down at the moment - try again later. on the singapore (east asia) site http://www.microtek.com.sg/Product.php?Product=Detail&P_Id=117&Kword=scanmaker%20i900&Select=All&FirstData=0#F-B nothing obvious based on your problem, but at least it means they still acknowledge the product and that they have to support it. maybe you can spot something yourself as well. If no luck with the US website then go to microtek.com and complain to any of the other sites. Their customer service should help. If no joy from this please post again, someone might know the software. Hope this helps :)
