Isuzu stylus blower fan doesn't work; fuse is good; blower motor works on straight 12V

I have a 1991 Isuzu Stylus XS and the Blower Fan under the glove box quit. I know that the fuses are all good, the motor works when you put 12VDC directly to it. The AC compressor comes on and the blue light but the only way to get the air to flow is to open the outside air flap and let the natural speed of the car help push some air in.

SOURCE: Blower motor on 96 Isuzu Rodeo does not blow on

if fuses are good, check for power at blower motor, when truck is running and a/c on. the resistor and the switch provide ground, so the blue/white wire should have power, and the blue/black wire should have NO power, if it does have power, then most likely the resistor is bad. if it has no power and the motor doesnt run, the motor is bad.

Did you find out a solution to your problem? I have a 1996 trooper that is showing most of the same symptoms that you have. I'm curious as to your fix. Was it simply a bad ground?

SOURCE: My 1991 isuzu trooper heater

if the lower fan speeds dont work but the fastest speed does the heater fan resistor block needs replacing. If the highest fan speed doesnt work leave it on there and check for power at heater blower fan, if power is on one wire and the other is an earth the blower motor fan needs replacing. Use a normal globe test light to check this. If no power on any wires to fan go back and check all fuses in car and under bonnet with same test light. If fuses are ok possible open circuit wire to fan.

Rear fan for ac 2006 kia sedona not working fuses check good. What else???

It's probably the blower fan itself. The brushes in the fan motors are really crappy. I removed mine and simply did a cleanup of the commutator re-installed it and it works perfectly! You can test the motor by hooking 12v power directly to it. My front blower went out and it was a snap to remove, 6 screws under the dash above the passenger side floorboard and the blower was in my hand. This motor had worn out brushes so I had to open the motor assembly and replace them. Those blower motors are $125 in the aftermarket so you can save yourself a bundle of cash if you're handy with tools. P.S. there is a little rubber boot hooked to the side of the motors, it is important to make sure this is installed properly as it has to do with cooling the motor and elongating it's life cycle!

I have only high speed on my ac/heat switch. have replace acdelco blower motor resistor 2 times already. works for a while and quits. whatelse do I need to check etc?.

If you have replaced the blower motor resistor block twice all ready, i would be replacing the blower motor itself. When the blower motor is drawing too much current it burns out resistors for lower fan speeds in resistor block, but doesnt blow fuse for fan. Also check for leaves and stuff in fan when removing fan.

C-19 Blower motor fuse 25A located in cabin fuse box. Left hand footwell on LHD vehicles, right hand dashboard on RHD vehicles.
Start by checking blower relay B-36 in the engine compartment fuse and relay box. Remove the relay. Jumper directly from battery to pins 85 and 86. (also see here: http://www.fixya.com/cars/r5544622-wire_relay if you dont know about relays) The relay should click Now measure across pins 30 and 87. Measurement should be 0 ohm.
Remove the blower motor(3 screws on the bottom of the unit under the passenger side dash) and connect jumper leads from the battery directly to the blower motor to see that it operates.
The blower motor resister is mounted on the ducting between the motor housing and the heating unit. Remove to test
Measure :
  • pin 1-2 : 2.4 ohm
  • pin 2-4 : 0.9 ohm
  • pin 2-6 : 0.28 ohm
  • pin 2-3 : 0 ohm

Subject: 2004 isuzu rodeo...my ac/heater blower is not working

The resistors are in circuit only on the lower fan speed settings.
On the highest speed setting, power is switched directly to the fan motor.
Check fan power supply fuses,
Check power is available to the fan when high speed selected.
If all above OK, apply power directly to the motor to verify fan motor runs- if it doesn't the motor may need replacement/repair.

1997 isuzu rodeo problems with the blower motor and resistor how do you test them both

You can test the blower motor by connecting a positive and negetive wire directly to the 2 terminals on the motor.
As far as the resistor goes. If the blower motor only works on high fan speed then the resistor is bad. If it works on all speeds except high, then the relay is bad. Good luck. Hope this helps.
