Well the picture is dark when watching cant see the picture during the day but at night it is ok but still dark but at lease you can see the picture! While moving into our new house the screen that is on the outside tore and the plastic frame molding that goes on the edge broke. Where can I buy these parts and how can I make the picture better?

Re: Need to fix the color and screen
Problem #2 CRT Fluid is Cloudy
Projection TV tubes have a liquid coolant that is used to keep them from overheating. After many years the coolant in the blue and green tubes will become cloudy and cause the screen to look dull, red/orange, etc. You may even see halos around images.

That unit is a two mirror set. Meaning the light engine lens shines down onto a small mirror and that is reflected onto a large mirror and then onto the screen. Gravity being what it is dust and other contaminants cover the lower mirror. Moving the set would only aggrevate dust settling on it. To fix the problem the screen must be removed and the mirror cleaned. You won't believe the difference. It will be like watching a new tv.
Does the TV have a light sensor? If so, turn it off. The light sensor limits the backlights intensity at night or when it's dark in your room in order for better vieweing convenience.
If you are in a dark environment, it really pains your eyes when the view is too bright. Same works the other way around. If it's day, and light in your room. The light sensor will dimm the backlight for it isn't needed.
The mirror should also be cleaned. but there is more adjustments that can bring up brightnes ie G2 on the flyback transformers but that is some thing a tech should do. Because you have to ad enough of each color to get a gray scale. if you are off the picture will be tinted and your color will be way off.
