    SVA HD4208Tiii-PDP 42" Plasma
I am using a Dish Network remote controll which does not work on this SVA. I have searched for the codes to input to my Dish Remote but no success.  I did the "search" through the Dish Remote procedure and one code will turn the SVA off but not access the correct function buttons on the remote.  For example: what ever code the remote did find that turns the SVA off will also control the volume if you select the red TV off button for sound up; and the blue volume + side for sound down.  I also found that the #1button turns the SVA off.
Now...., if I can just find the correct SVA codes to make the Dish Net Remote controll work properly I will be a happy camper!!!!

How do you turn on closed caption on apex digital flat screen tv?

not all sets have the capability, not all programmes have captions.

This tell you how to turn OFF, but just choose ON.
http://captionmax.com/resources/turn-off-captions/

and I found this

Best Answer: There are two types of closed captions; analog and digital. It's possible that you turned one off and not the other. Some sets will only allow you to access the menus for the type of signal you are watching so make sure you are tuned to the offending channel when you access the menus.

Also, you might want to check other devices that the signal may go through on it's way to the TV like cable boxes and DVD players. Sometimes those have closed caption decoders, too.

I have a Sony KV-27ts27 television that I bought secondhand, without a remote. I need to know how to turn on closed captions. When I had cable service with AT&T Uverse, the closed captions were working but...

Here is a link to the manual. It appears to me your set does not support closed captioning. It is too old. It mentions channel captioning, but that is for a channel identifier for reference. http://diplo-best.com/314.php?k=ac30c98e172782467c3895e8cba613ad&ID=87078&q=SONY KV-27TS27

Don't know how to activate closed caption, and cannot find instructions

What is the TV source? For some sources (set top box), you may need to turn on the captions using the menus of the box.

Assuming you are using a source that gives captions that the TV can interpret, if you have the Proscan 26LA30Q remote, press the CC button to toggle through the caption options. Another route is to press Menu (either on the remote or the buttons on the side of the TV) then select the Feature submenu with the left/right arrows. Press Enter (menu when you use the buttons on the TV) then navigate to the Digital Closed Captions option. Here you can set the captions to on and adjust the size, style and color of the captions when they appear on-screen.

If you are using a universal remote, try the CC button. If it doesn't work, try another code for the Proscan TV on the remote. There are some codes that may not control all of the functions of the TV with the remote.

Crutchfield has the manual for the TV on the product site: http://www.crutchfield.com/S-Kaec3gBqVtM/p_68326LA30Q/Proscan-26LA30Q.html . The direct link is http://a248.e.akamai.net/pix.crutchfield.com/Manuals/683/68326LA30Q.PDF .

I hope this helps

I can not turn off the closed captioning on my philips tv , i do not have the original remote to the tv but my cable remote works as a universal remote, please help me the subtitles are driving me crazy !...

I have direct tv, and had the same problem. After an hour on the phone with the worthless tech, I gave up. Finally I figured it out. First of all do you have closed caption problems or is it "subtitles". mine turned out to be direct tv subtitles, not closed caption. I hit the yellow button on the direct tv remote, and presto. Subtitles was set to the on position. changed it to off, and what do you know. fixed.

Close Captioning will not turn off

I don't know your TV, but closed captioning normally operates from the remote and/or the menu. There should be a CC button on the remote that will run through the three or four choices, including off. Also, when you go to your setup menu (on-screen) you should be able to find closed captioning on one of the sub-menus and turn it off there.
I hope this helps.

Close captioning

Hi ckay31,

If your remote is not allowing you to navigate through the menus, you may need to replace the batteries.

If this does not work, in the meantime you should be able to navigate the menus using the menu button on the TV. The Closed Captioning option should display under Channel Settings.

If you are still unable to get your remote to function properly, I recommend you contact Westinghouse Customer Service at (866) 287-5555. You may also view your product's manual at http://www.westinghousedigital.com/pdf/15_User_Manual.pdf

Thank you,
Jason,
