Screen problem when I am watching a few stations during a program a big black square appears on the screen and you have to keep pushing the volume button to get rid of square. Is there something on the remote to fix this problem, or is there something under the menu button I have to change!

That's the text box function of the closed caption decoder. Look for buttons with "CAP", "TEXT","CCD", or "CLOSED CAPTION". Look in menu for same.

turn off the closed captions or select c1 to view the captions. Right now they are set for text and that is what is causing the black box to appear
