Question about Honeywell Programmable Thermostat Heater
Our rth230b was installed one month ago.we did not program it because we are retired and at home most of the day.we set the heat at 73 degrees, the furnace comes on until the 73 temp is reached.it then shuts off.when we checkthe thermostat it shows 74 degrees, why?also what is the setpoint?also what are theheating cycle lengths 10 12 15 20 or 30 minutes meaning?thanks
Sometimes the furnace does a better job than anticipated, i wouldn't worry about it, especially if the furnace shuts off.
the setpoint is the temperature you want it to be
cycle lenghts are determined by how much recovery you are requesting. for instance, in the morning when you wake up, you want the temperature to be at its setpoint. what the thermostat will do is make the furnace run a limited lengths during the recovery process.
