Hi, I have a Recoctane Les Paul Mod. 95121 with the same problem, it tries to sync but with no success. So I read your post and probe that if I add a cell for a total of 4.5v the problem disappear This make me think that the problem was in the voltage regulator or something like that, so I start to view with the help of an oscilloscope the 3.3v line in the guitar main board and I found a lot of ripple, so I replace the small electrolytic capacitor rated at 220uf @ 10v near the battery connector and now it works!

Did you replaced it with another capacitor of equal values?

in order to sync your guitar up with the adapter, all you need to do is turn the ps2 on and then the guitar press the button on the adapter or guitar and it should find it. it will glow solid red when nothing is happening and blink when something does happen on the guitar.
