Freezing problem Hi Qosmio G15 keeps freezing. The only way to reboot it is to hold down the power button to turn it off and then turn it back on. Right after it freezes (maybe 3-5 seconds later) the fan gets really loud. Help!

Re: Freezing problem

Hello, try taking out the smaller Drive. Then follow these instructions once you reboot. If you can, go to F8 safe mode.
Then click on start --> Run.
Type CMD, the hit enter key.

In the black popup window MSDOS type: ipconfig /flushdns
There is a space between the g and /.

Re: Freezing problem

If any new device has been install it is possible that you have not installed the right drivers thereby crashing the system system when the driver is loaded. or there is a mechanical problem with the fan not revolving at the right speed. this delay in rotation can cause overheating causing the system to crash.

Re: Freezing problem

Check for vent blockages, hoover around area. try starting up in safe mode (F8 on start up) and see if it crashes, incase this is a driver issue and a process of elimination is required. If it does not crash then a driver issue is a definate. If it still crashes then a processor overheating is the problem

Qosmio f60 fan goes on high speed and freez. It keep freezing. The only way to reboot it is to hold down the power button to turn it off and then turn it back on.

I have the same "computer" qosmio f60. I've replaced the hard drive, installed a new window 7 OS, changed RAM paging, power options, run the things with a fan pointed at the computer fan.
The fan goes to high speed and the HDD LED unblinking. I've brought the laptop to two computer shops whose owners knew less about computers than I did. I tried to go to a Toshiba recommended shop in Toronto except they changed to Apple-service only. I tried phoning Toshiba, they just want to change 4 bucks a minute for technical assistance. I've had this Toshiba-thing going on 3 years with the troubles starting after the first year. No one cares about this problem. If I see a Toshiba factory I'm going to chuck this red brick of cra through the window.
BTW it's not a virus or rootkit. I had to learn how to partition a HDD sector through some crazy BIOS program before installing windows. There's no virus or rootkit that's causing this problem.
It's mostly been freezing on me with games.

Nothing comes up on the screen when i turn the computer on, the power light is on but nothing shows up on the screen

Try pressing Fn + F2 key after turning the computer on. Try to perform power drain. Taka out the battery and unplug the adapter. Presss and hold the power button for 30secs. Put the battery back in and plug in your power adapter then turn on the computer.

Let me know if you will still be getting the same issue.

Toshiba G15 laptop has green lines and will not boot past Windows logo, it freezes there. Can anyone help?

reboot in Safe Made by pressing F8 at boot up. Then restore the system to an earlier date. This may be happening due to some malicious prog that you have installed or due to a virus. If due to a virus, the install AVG Anti Virus free from www.

New hard drive for my Toshiba Qosmio G15 R laptop

I believe with Toshiba they normally would give you a recovery disk and then a drivers and utilities disk as well. If you don't have both then I would suggest installing windows xp and then go to this page: on the downloads button and from there choose your operating system and you can download the drivers from that page. You'll know which drivers you'll need by going into the device manager and seeing what has a yellow question mark next to it.If you need more help with this let me know and I'll help you more.
