Have a Samsung split a/c .not working only indoor turn off isolater for 5mins turn back on wait a couple of mins turn on with remote a/c will start to work then goes out with red and green lights flashing...

this sounds like your AC is short on refrigerant or you have a defective sensor. When the AC condenser turns on feel the lines leaving with your hand. If it runs for a few minuites and does not get cold and sweats the gas pressure is low, if it does it could be one of your sensors in the evaporator.
There are usually two sensors/thermistors; take off the evaporator cover and one will be on the coil (room sensor) and the other inside a copper sleeve (coil sensor) You need a multimeter to check the ohmic value. your reading should be anywhere between 4K ohms to 10 K ohms, if your readings are in ohms (0-999) the sensor needs replacing with the original value, if values are mismatched the AC will not work

Usually the value just down from the pilot light has a red button on it. You push that button and then attempt to light.

I use around 7000 metric units of gas per year and need to convert this into Kwh so I can shop around. Any ideas?

  • Multiply by the temperature and pressure figure (1.02264).
  • Multiply by colorific value (39.25)
  • Divide by 3.6 to get the number of kilowatt hours (kWh)
7000 multiply by 1.02264 multiply by 39.25 divide by 3.6 ans 78047 kwh
Make sure you have the correct colorific value for your gas but 39.25 is most common

Hi im a plumber/gas fitter who has been asked if i can convert a wildcat 410 (a2) ser 1983 from lpg to ng which is currently in use at a crash repair spray booth is this possible?

Yes look up the gas valve part # and find the LP kit for that model number. It will come with new pilot orifice, new burner orifices and the springs to replace inside the gas valve. Remember that natural gas is .08"wc and LP is a heavier gas it needs to be set at 11"wc .You need a manometer to check the pressure before you light it again .Did you know that propane provides more energy per unit volume than natural gas. Heat is measured in BTUs, or British Thermal Units. Propane provides about 2500 BTUs for the same volume of natural gas that only gives 1000 BTUs.

Fan runs but condesor not running

1. First refill the gas. Gas seems to be overcharged than the recommended value. If the gas is OK
2. There is an overload in the compressor, when it takes more then recommended amperes of current overload shuts the compressor.
Than need to change the compressor.

Gas Valve is leaking

I am a Nordyne dealer and you can replace your gas valve with a generic valve of your choice. You can try and find a supply house in your area that sells them or you can visit to find one.

How do i size a residential gas boiler?

Depend on what part of the country the standard for r-values for homes are! Check a reputable contractor or better yet, call the city mechanical inspector for the correct Btu's per sq. footage of dwelling or establishement! Thank-you-very-much!
