Dont know how old unit is or how familiar you arewiththe unit, but the burner will need to heat up and cycle off/on. no matter how high or low you set the setting it will heat to a specific temp and cycle off, if hte burner remained RED all the time the glass would crak( so dont go by appearnce of burner, the glass should dictate the temp

Ge stove top gas burner, the strickers keep on stricking?

Try cleaning the switch as grease can build up and mak it stick. Temp cure is to turn power off to strickers until needed and then turn back on. Hope this helps.

GE Spectra burner stays on high

if this is the one with the auto temp burner , defined by a sensor sticking up from its center , this maybe a normal condition for it without a pan on it , as I had one of these come on my new stove , as being a exe chief for 6 years id always set my flame height before setting the pan down , this feature took me some getting used too !!! to say the least !!

but now that im used to it , its great I love it , no more burnt on messes , works great with caramelizing things !!!

On our glass top GE Profile stove, the burners do not stay on - they keep turning off and then on again before coming to full temp. Extra long time, for example, for water to boil.

They cycle off once they have reached the temp that you set, then come back on to keep that temp, my suggestion is increase the set temp.

I have a GE Hotpoint flat top stove model # RB787WC1WW and the oven will sometimes shut off by itself. Is there a sensor that shuts it down when it reaches desired heat. It will sometimes turn on if you...

That is what the oven elements are suppose to do. When it gets to temp the thermostat cuts the elements off and as it cools they will heat back up. if it cuts off and wont heat back up its probably the thermostat

GE True Temp flat top stove - heating with switch off

This happened recently to my stove... heard a funny sound and then the burner I was not using suddenly started heating up with the switch still in of position. It appears that the problem is the burner switch. I've bought a new one...however I didn't note the order of the wires before removing the old one... and now can't get the new one hooked up right! Part is only around $25.00.. just be sure to mark where the wires go before unplugging them.

GE True Temp oven won't turn off.

The sensor is a part number WB23T10002 and goes for about $60. The paper inside the control area of the oven will state the normal resistance values of it. (probably about 1080 ohms at room temp, about 2650 at clean temp.) If you cut a lead to it, you would just get a F3 code, and if you cut the other and wire them together, just get a F4 code, so that wouldn't help diagnose the problem, but if you could use an ohm meter on the probe it would. BUT the oven should not come on without it being set to bake, SO I conclude that the ERC is indeed the problem (with the welded electrical contacts), which is a part number WB50T10043 which might go for about $125 or so. If you are careful when you replace it, you can probably peal the faceplate (part # WB27T10125) off and reuse it, so you should just need the ERC.

My electric stove top burner only works on high

This is for the glass top units. well i'm not sure if your problem is with your large or small single burner or the large expandable burner. If it's the large or small single burner replace the burner and if it the expandable also replace the burner. If you have a coil burner replace the infinite switch. Good luck hope this helps you.

Burner temp.

If set to high, burners should remain on. If set to medium high let's say, they would be on for maybe 70 percent of the time, off for 30 percent of the time. If set to warm, they might be on only 10 percent of the time, off 90 percent. There is a high temp limiter which could turn a burner off. If you have a burner on high and are cooking on that burner and it goes off, the high temp limiter may be faulty. It is an integral part of the burner, and would require replacement of the offending burner. Burners are individually replaceable after lifting up the glass cook top.
