Door rubber for Defy Sensimatic 45 Tumble Dryer

Hi, we have a Defy Sensimatic 45 Tumble Dryer and have just bought parts from South Africa, only to find that the drum rubber "seal" also needs replacement now that we have stripped it to replace the parts. Can anyone help with where we can find this door rubber here in Australia?

Is this an electric dryer? If so, the most common problem would be a burned-out heating element. There could also be a defective temperature sensor inside. This will need to be evaluated by a qualified appliance repair technician to find the exact cause.

I take it that the belt is ok and the drum is turning. The heater comes with thermostats fitted as a complete part. There is an overload safety thermostat which is situated inside the drum and above the door,it is held in place with a self tapping screw then prise open the plastic cover and then the thermostat will pull out,if replacing remember to refit the small gasket.Have you checked the filters and exhaust hose for any blockages as this will affect the heating.

Hope this helps

A TUBE OF CONTACT CEMENT WORKS WONDERS ON THE SEALING RUBBER - JUST FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS ON THE TUBE . IF ITS GOOD ENOUGH FOR DOOR SEALS IN THE AUTOMOTIVE INDUSTRY ITS GOOD ENOUGH TO HOLD YOUR DOOR SEAL IN PLACE - GOOD LUCK.
