It will not stay on...it comes on then turns rite off
I just cut the protect3 jumper (J101) on the inverter board on the middle left hand side. Just make sure nothing is overheating and it might work for you. Let me know if it helped you.

I am sorry... I do not understand what a "protect3 jumper (J101)" is -- I am not smart about any of this.
I am sorry... I don't know how to use this web site yet. Apologize to all for confusion I caused.
Apparently, one of the inverting transformers is pulling a little more current than normal and is triggering the protect. So just cut the small jumper wire as described to block the turn off signal and that should take care of the problem at least for a while.

I had this exact problem. I went to the Sylvania website and found a firmware upgrade for my TV. The Sylvania site provides detailed instructions with illustrations. This worked for me and fixed the problem.
Please follow the instructions exactly and if you are not tech savvy, ask a knowledgeable friend to help. You should not attempt to upgrade firmware unless you have confidence in your ability to do so. You *could* end up with a completely dead TV if you mess it up.
