Makes a hissing sound in the freezer side and i see a puddle of water at the back

Defrost heater may be getting defrosted ice on it causing the sound because it's hot. It won't hurt anything. The water from the melted frost drains out a drain hole at the bottom of the freezer. If it gets stopped up it will come out the freezer door onto the floor.

Your fridge is fine it was in defrost mode during this an element heats up to melt any frost and ice in the freezer. But yes the hissing sound does sound alarming but is perfectly normal. hope you have a nice day

Have a small leak in my small freezer unit coolant system

Good day,
Gas is not dangerous. But you have a serious problem.
Repair is limited to an epoxy repair, or replacing the coil assembly complete.
A new dryer filter must be brazed in, The system must be vacuumed out, charging ports installed ect, ect, ect.
You can call around to the service companies for a price, but it will be pricey, and you will probably have to take it in.

Not considered to be a practical repair.

Maytag model MQU1556AEW, frost-free freezer forms ice in bottom.

I'm not sure if this will help but the freezer that is located on the bottom of my refrigerator started forming ice on the back part where the cold air was supposed to be coming out. I kept hearing a hissing sound like water dripping on a hot surface. I called the repair man in and he had to replace the defrost timer. Once he did that it worked like a charm.

I am not an expert by any means although removing ice from a frost-free freezer is a pain and this took care of the problem for me. Good luck!

Hissing inside the freezer

This is 100% normal, the element is there to get red hot and defrost all the ice off the freezer Evaporator, if you touch it you'll burn your finger. It's called a defrost element and comes on for upto 30mins every 6-12hours depending on the timer. Without it the freezer would be a block of useless ice cheers

Sanyo sr-3620w Poked sensor under freezer tray...hissing sound

More than likely you let the refrigerant out. Is there an oily residue? If so you definitely punctured the evaporator. It's time consuming and expensive to properly repair a standard refrigerator sealed system and maintain the chemical stabilty that will prevent future problems. But with those tiny units priced as they are, it's always cheaper to replace them.

Sounds like she put a hole in the evaporator.BAD NEWS!!! If it is accessable it may be repaired and the unit recharged. The proper way to defrost a freezer is to empty it and pull the plug with the doors opens.Let it melt on it's own.
