Question about Printers & Copiers

1 Answer

My printer will not print anymore since I installed a new black cartridge. I have chatted with two of your techs and got disconnected from both of them after trying different things that they suggesed and did not work. I started another chat with one today and he informed me there was a $50.00 charge to find out what was wrong. I guess that HP has gone to the dogs also. I talked to a gal named Norma Saturday and she never mention anything about any charge and today I did not get the name of the one and I got disconnected with him when he was trying to download a printer driver for me. The third smart aleck was not very nice to me and I am very disappointed in HP company and I will never buy another product from Hp.

Hehe, ok? What printer is this, exactly?

It's not always just the cartridges that need to be replaced. Sometimes you also have to replace the print nozzles. About the same price.

Dumb question. Did you pull the strip from the toner cartidge? OEM or aftermarket? I would try the old cartidge and see if it changes if you don't have the old cartridge anymore I would contemplate replacing the one you just purchased or taking it back to where you purchased it and get an exchange for a defective cartridge.

I have a lexmark x8350 all in one.there is a color missing error

Hi,

Trying cleaning the contacts on the cartridge and clean the contacts on the printer use a dry tint paper towel to clean the contacts. Then try to reinstall the cartridge using the software. Next, lets try to print the self test.
Begin by disconnecting the power supply from the wall (not the back of the printer) for at least "30 seconds." This is essential. Then plug the printer back in and follow these steps:
1. Press the "Copy" button.
2. Press the "Menu" button.
3. Press the down arrow button once or until the screen displays "Maintenance."
4. Press the check mark button to select the "Maintenance" menu.
5. Press the down arrow button three times until the screen displays "Print Test Page."
6. Press the check mark button to select this. The Self-Test will start printing.
The self-test should at least print out a set of either black or color bars, if not both (if you have a printer with both color and black installed simultaneously.) Should this test fail, try it again without cartridges installed. If the self-test still fails to take paper in and make sounds like the carrier is moving across the paper, this is a hardware issue, and the printer will require service. If the self-test completes without any cartridges installed, run the self-test again with the color cartridge installed. (If you have both black and color cartridges, after this test, run the test again with just the black cartridge installed.) If you find that either cartridge causes the self-test to fail.

Brother mfc665cw says no black ink cartridge

No, the problem is apparently the print head is bad. I just spoke to a tech on the phone. The saddest news I could have gotten...all you folks that have this problem, scrap the printer. After a new print head and finding someone to install it, its over 200.00..A tech told me himself. Buy a new printer..Craigslist has a few of them at least here in Indy, try your area.....it IS the print head when the lcd read no ink or no cartridge. I am in mourning... I love this printer.
