Toshiba Satellite M30 display problem

I am having display trouble with my Toshiba M30. This is going to be long so I apologize upfront. The display on the screen was first really enlarged and out of whack. Sometimes I would see weird white lines across the screen. I remember picking up my laptop with the screen once, and this happened exactly after that.

I thought of resetting the video cable, did that, and while assembling the display, managed to cut the sensor switch cable, upon which, there was no display at all. With a lot of trouble, found a replacement switch and managed to power the screen back again. At first everything looked fine, but then the problems started happening again. I was able to use the display, but every now and then, the screen would get botched up; show enlarged display; would take longer to load new windows; the screen would not turn on if I restarted the computer (i would have to wait for a day to power it again); the screen would flicker every 5-8 seconds.

I reinstalled the video drivers, even replaced the LCD cable, but a few days later, the screen completely shut off. Now, It doesn't power on at all, and if it use an external monitor, it behaves the same way as mentioned above.

I am at a loss for what's wrong here...Plzzzzzzz help!!

I decided to read this and I am not exactly 100 sure what the proplem is. I did want to offer a suggestion though. If you are having problems with both the screen and an external monitor, the problem may be with the graphics hardware. If you have a card, it may need to be replaced. If not, i'm very sorry. The motherboard may need to be replaced. Hope this helps.

To reset the BIOS password read the information from this link.

In case of your laptop the easiest method would be using software from Hiren's Boot CD as it's pretty hard to open it up and reach for the CMOS battery or the jumper.
