Hi tbopper, install linksys software. Follow the instruction. Disable your anti virus / firewall software. (temporally). Make sure the PC with the wireless card is turned on.
Than open My Network connections & run windows Set up a home or small office network. Follow windows instructions.
That's it. When you restart your PC your Anti virus software should enable it's self. Check your firewall is also back on, if it's included in your anti virus it will re-inable it's self. Since your running a wireless make sure you enable security & password, other wise anyone with a wireless can tap into your wireless signal slowing your bandwith down.
To test your linksys is correct. Open internet explorer. In the address window type in 192.168.1.1 & press enter. Your settings should show up. Tech support is free with linksys.
Good Luck & Enjoy!
Mike

Try to disable wireless card on your desktop. With both the wireless and cat-5 socket enabled, "WITHOUT" the proper bridge settings, they will conflict and not be able to read.
SOURCE: I have Verizon Fios install
Your IP address for you linksys router needs to be changed. More than likely there using the same IP address such as 192.168.0.1.
You have to convert your linksys router to a switch and change the IP address range it uses to on that doesn't conflict with the Verizon router.
10.150.1.1 should work.

card or usb connector will both work. once you have installed the router software, you'll need to install the card software as well. the usb may also have software, but i don't have one so i'm not positive, but it's highly like;y in order to secure the network.
this should help guide you.

SOURCE: need to set up a wireless connection
Do you have the CDs that came with the router and the adapter? If you do, you can run the Router CD on your PC upstairs to configure the Router, and Run the adapter CD on the a610 to configure the adapter. If you don't have the CDs, I need the brand and model number of the wireless router, and the model number of the linksys adapter. If you need help physically installing the card, let me know.
