I have a Maytag Neptune Electric dryer. It won't

Hi,
Try to plug something else in the same outlet, if it works, you know you have power to the dryer. If it doesn’t work, you’ll need to check for any blown fuses or tripped circuit breakers. Electric dryers should have the wiring checked at the terminal block to make sure that the connection is good, or to verify that the connection is burnt out.
If the power is there, you will have to check the door switch, thermal fuse, thermostats, and start switch to see if one of these is faulty.

Thanks for using fixya

Good Luck and have a nice day.

I need to know thermostat location on maytag performa dryer

The operating thermostat is located on the blower housing behind the front panel, however the thermal fuse/hi-limits are located below the top attached to the heater box. They are more often the culprit as is the element in those units.. Check the exhaust path from the lint screen out to ensure a clear 4" path the entire length, as blocked ducting will raise internal temperatures and also cause those components to fail..
Have fun, and best of luck,
Thanks,
Chuck

Location of Thermal Fuse

The thermal fuse is located near the heating element. The part number for the replacement kit is LA-1053. You can view an illustrated parts break down of your dryer at searspartsdirect.com. Just type in your model number and locate item 5 under the "Heater" section. Pay close attention to the instructions in the thermal fuse replacment kit. One thermostat is for a GAS dryer, one is for an ELECTRIC dryer. Read the instructions and make sure you use the correct one. If you have any questions, please let me know. I hope this helps you.

On the side of the heater box is a small black thermal fuse with 2 white wires going to it. If this is open the dryer will not run.Replace it.

I have a Frigidaire gallery series dryer.(GEOQ2152ESO). It will spin but will not heat. I suspect blown house fuses in dryer circuit. How do I access and replace fuses ?

the dryer circuit will be clearly labelled in the house box, there will be two fuses or a single two phase breaker for this circuit.
there are not usually electrical fuses as such IN a dryer, there are thermostats to regulate temperature, and a thermal fuse, that cuts the power totally to the heat element if air temperature rises above its melt point.
the element itself has a limited life span and may fuse/burnout.
to test electrical components.
Unplug dryer
open case, by removing the front,
described elsewhere in any of the 'changing belt' threads
locate the thermal cutouts, on the fan housing or exhaust duct and disconnect one wire to isolate it from the rest of the circuit, test with ohmmmeter, no-continuity replace, continuity reconnect wire
3aca526.jpg5d18df6.jpg thermal cuttouts look like these ~1inch accross.
locate the heat element and disconnect one wire to isolate it from the rest of the circuit, test with ohmmmeter, no-continuity replace, continuity reconnect wire

while you have the dryer open de-lint the fan and exhaust ducting, most common cause of element or themal fuse failure is air flow restriction
7713ef8.jpgce0732c.jpg you get a lot of lint out of the fan even when proper cleaning is done, and clean out the ducting right to the exterior walls
95b69b0.jpgthis was the rather extreme result of not cleaning the duct (brainiac placed a wire across the terminals of the burnt out thermal fuse)

No heat from our REX7648KQ electric dryer.

I couldnt bring up this model # Is it 22ov?full size dryer? I would recheck fuse's should be 2 one for each leg of 110v . I would check to see if you have 220v to back of dryer where the cord mounts to dryer Also some models have themal fuse on burner of dryer in back, this will keep heater from coming on... You can hook the wires together, that hook to themal fuse, being careful not to short wires and test if heater will come on
