ALTERNATE WAY TO TRANSFER PHOTOS AND VIDEOS TO A COMPUTER If your photos and videos are stored on the memory card, then remove the memory card from the camera and insert it into an USB memory card reader. Connect this USB memory card reader and memory card into the USB port of your working computer. Your computer will see this as an USB Mass Storage Device or an external storage device; you can then open the folder on the memory card and copy the photos to your computer. Memory card reader is a handy device and is inexpensive. You can copy photos from other cameras and you can also download photos off your memory card to someone else's computer without the need of installing any programs.
Consider NOT connecting the camera to the computer.
The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.
Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive. Or you can use any photo cataloging program.
Connect your data cable with computer to camera. If the computer needs the camera driver install it .Then you can find the camera is detected ,Now you can download your photos to your computer.Or you can take the memory card out from camera and connect it with memory card reader to computer then you can download your photos
connect your cmaera with the given conneccting linking cord to the PC. The PC will detect your camera and ask for action --mostly.
If not you can click on the new device in My computer folder - new drive.
open this and the photos will be seen. You can copy and paste or send it by right clicking to the documents- my picture folder.
Alternatively you can take the memory card and download directly with the card reader slot - if present in you PC or laptop.
Install the disc while the camera is not connected. After restarting your computer, turn the camera on and plug it into the USB port. The camera mode has to be set on playback ( the little triangle). If it is set on the little camera icon, the computer will not detect the camera. Then the computer detects the new hardware and you can choose the proper action.
Hmm, there isn't a little viewing screen?
Anyway, you can download the images to your computer and view them there. Either hook the camera up to your computer via the cable that came with it.
Or, you'll need a card reader & take the card out and hook up the reader to the 'puter and insert card.
If you're using Xp a image downloading wizard thingy will pop-up and walk you thru the process.
If not, after hooking camera or card up to 'puter, click on "my computer" find your device and click on it to open & view photos there.
And transfer images to your computer too.
