If this is a flat panel LCD tv, this is a sure sign that the panel itself is bad. I have seen this before. Tv comes on works fine then within 5 minutes goes blank.

Most likely - the CCFL backlight is not getting the power it needs to come on. You can verify by shining a light on the front surface of the set - if you can just make out a dim image, then that is it. On some sets, the CCFL can be seen through the vents on the rear.
