Bleach and Fabric Softner Dispenser

Hi
This is a result of the siphoning action and is part of the normal operation of the washer. Water
may be removed by removing the dispenser drawer and draining
water into the empty drum or sink.

Outside
• When washing is completed, wipe top and sides of washer with a damp cloth. Turn water
faucets off to prevent pressure build-up in the hoses.
• As needed, clean the cabinet with mild soap and water. Never use harsh, gritty or
abrasive cleansers. If door or console becomes stained, clean with diluted chlorine bleach
[1/2 cup (120 ml) in 1 quart (.95 L) water]. Rinse several times with clear water.
• Remove glue residue from tape or labels with a mixture of warm water and mild detergent.
Or, touch residue with the sticky side of the tape or label.
• Before moving the washer, place a strip of cardboard or thin fiberboard under the front
leveling legs to prevent floor damage.
Cleaning the Dispenser Drawer Area
Detergent and fabric softener may build up in the dispenser drawer. Residue should be removed
once or twice a month.
• Remove the drawer by pulling the drawer out until it stops. (Figure 1)
• Reach back into the left rear corner of the drawer cavity and press down firmly on the lock
tab (left rear portion of the drawer). Pull out the drawer. (Figure 2)
• Remove the insert from the bleach and fabric softener compartments. (Figure 3)
• Rinse the drawer and inserts with hot tap water to remove traces of accumulated powders
and liquids. Large amounts of fabric softener residue may indicate improper dilution or
more frequent cleaning is required.
• To clean the drawer opening, use a small brush to clean the recess. Remove all residue
from the upper and lower parts of the recess. (Figure 4)
• Replace the insert pressing the "X" to lock it in place. Return the dispenser drawer.
Inside
• Remove items from the washer as soon as the cycle ends. Excess wrinkling, color transfer,
and odors may develop in items left in the washer.
• Before cleaning the washer interior, unplug the electrical power cord to avoid electrical
shock hazards.
• Dry around the washer door opening, flexible gasket, and door glass. These areas should
always be clean to ensure a water tight seal.
• When extremely soiled items have been washed, a dirty residue may remain on the drum.
Remove this by wiping the drum with a nonabrasive household cleanser. Rinse thoroughly
with water.
• Periodically, wipe dry the bottom of the flexible gasket to remove lint and other debris.
• The plastic drum vanes may become stained from fabric dye. Clean these parts with a
nonabrasive household cleanser. This prevents dye transfer to future loads.

My Maytag front loading washer constantly gets a build up of moldy looking stuff on the inside of the tub. What can I do to clean it off (bleach doesn't do it!) and what do I do to keep it off!!????

Hi. I have seen where some people leave their washer door open when it isn't being used to help with this issue. There are also various chemicals available to help with this issue. What I find to be most preferable is to clean the strainer, and flush the washer thoroughly. Here's how:
1. Remove and clean the strainer. It is located at the front base of the washer, behind the kick panel. The strainer is located between the drum and the pump, being connected to the drum with a rubber hose. Usually, the strainer unscrews. Clean it thoroughly, and look up into the pump cavity. Remove any debris that you find there also.
2. Flush the washer. Use a solution of soapy water and bleach to wipe down the seal face, and in the grooves of the seal where mold tends to grow. Wipe it down, let it sit so it can work, then wipe it down again. Pour 1 cup of bleach in the machine. Fill the dispenser cups (soap, bleach and softener) with bleach. Run an extended sanitary load, empty, with the hottest water selectable. After running, run one more empty cycle to flush the system completely.
This should have your washer clean and sanitary. Repeat the bleach washes monthly or more often, based on what you see and smell.
Some detergents are more condusive to allowing mold to grow than others. You can make a detergent that has borax, sodium carbonate and a mild soap in it. This has been satisfactory for us, and we can wash a load for ~.02 cents per load. You can look into this by going to YouTube, if you like. Type in Laundry detergent in the search bar.

We have a Maytag front load washer Model MAH 4000 AWW

tHE PROBLEM IS YOU NEED TO CLEAN YOUR SOAP, SOFTENER AND BLEACH DISPENSER, REMOVE THE BLEACH AND SOFTENER DISPENSER TRAY, AND YOU WILL FIND THAT IF YOU HAVE BEEN USING LIQUID SOFTENER, THAT IT HAS GUMMED UP AND CLOG THAT AREA AND IS CAUSING SPILL OVER. WHEN THE WATER IS POURED INTO THE TRAYS TO DISPENSE THE BLEACH AND OR SOFTENER.

Whirlpool Duet GHW9100L pours water out of the soap dispenser dra

probable cause is there is an article of clothing that is stuck between the outer and inner tubs, in the area where the dispenser water and detergent enter the machine. you can run your hand around the rubber boot and you might be able to remove the article, it will be in the upper left part of the machine. if nothing can be found than you have a plugged up dispenser hose.
