Can't load music without deleting existing materials
Due to problems with my PC at home,a friend has loaded some music & videos via her laptop.I have now purchased my own laptop and would like to now add my own music etc.,however when I try this my ipod classic/itunes says that by doing so will delete all existing files. Is there a way around this as I do not want to start over again?
Model-IPOD Classic 80GB
Any advice would be much appreciated. thanks S.Miller
Re: can't load music without deleting existing materials
I'm sorry, but there is no way around that without starting over. This means that the two laptops have different operating system and you will have to restore your ipod if you want it to work with your computer.
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need. goodluck!

Were you installing Windows when this first occurred? If so, are you reloading via pressing a key on the keyboard (recovery partition) or with an actual XP disc that matches your version?
I think that I would load via a CD, delete any or all existing partitions including the recovery partition, and do a clean install if that's what you want to do.
If you'd like to recover your system without reinstalling Windows, boot with CD in(borrowed if you don't have one and probably don't have), choose to install (don't go to Recovery Console) accept the license agreement, Windows will search for existing installations, choose to repair Windows.
If it will not boot from CD, you'll have to change setting in BIOS (boot order) so that it will. Instructions should be easy to find to do that. You'll have to hit a key at sometime to boot from CD.
Insert your sd card into the computer/laptop using the sd card adapter and open the file then click on the file named games. Downlaod your games you want from online sites and put them into the folder named gamnes.here you can also delete the already existing games or even add music by creating a new folder called music not in the games folder though.
You will need to Purchase and load required US MAP(s) via 'TOM TOM HOME'. When the new MAPs are registred to your device, you can then use the 'Change preference' -> manage Maps -> Switch Map -> then select the appropriate 'registred' US MAP.
Please note: always backup your GPS via 'Tom Tom Home' backup utilities first! If you have limited storage, you may need to delete your existing map(s), that were previously back-up, before loading the US Maps
hi, when you install the new os there are usually two options
1) to install a new os formating the partition ( which distroys all data on the partition)
2) install the os on existing partition without formating the parttion, i think you are choosing this option in order to avoid the above written error in this option choose use the directory other then already present like if earlier directory was c:\windows put in c:\windows_new_date
so that it don't have to rewrite the files in the same directory and the files are loaded onto a new directory and when it will be installed it will give you the option to select the installtion you want to boot from.
You need to install itunes on your laptop so your iphone can sync with itunes and your computer.. this is used to tranfer music to your iphone, transfer photo's and video etc and also to check for new firmware versions/back up your phone.
You can however take photo's from your iphone without itunes if you connect your phone via usb and choose open folder to view files when the dialog pops up after you plug it in.. this has very limited use however you really need to install itunes. Itunes is a free download
