I have a pentax me super that was recently given to me, and i have replaced the batteries however there is no indication at all from leds. i am not sure if it is broken or if there is something i am...

First, check that you've inserted the batteries the correct way up. the positive terminals face down as you hold the camera inverted. Also check that the camera's battery terminals are bright and clean.

With the batteries inserted and the battery cover in place, set the camera mode selector to Auto or M (manual) and lightly press the shutter whilst looking into the viewfinder. If the batteries are good one of the LED's from 4s to 2000 will light steadily. If they don't then you have a faulty camera and ME Supers are not easy to fix and the electronic parts which usually let them down are very hard to obtain. It's perhaps forgiveable when you think that these cameras are nearly 30 years old now... Not really a problem though as there were so many sold that it's usually fairly easy to obtain another for free (good old FreeCycle and Freegle) or very cheap, but a bit more difficult to find one which still works correctly in all respects.

The ME Super is very limited without batteries as the light meter won't work. By setting the mode selector dial to 125X you get the single mechanical shutter speed of 1/125 of a second.

If you want a free download of the user manual, it's in two parts as a pdf file on the Norman Butkus website

Nikon F601 Wont Turn On...

The most common cause of no electrical function is some sort of corrosion on the battery terminal connectors.  Assuming the battery is the correct type (6V DL223A, CR-P2) and holding a good charge, it could be that one or both of the prongs at the bottom of the battery compartment has something on it. The F601 (or the N6006 version, which I have) is 16-17 years old now, and has likely picked up some battery corrosion over its lifetime. Try rubbing the top of the terminals with a rough pencil eraser (being careful not to bend the prongs over).
You might also check to see whether the battery is latching under the tiny tabs inside the edge of the battery compartment when it is inserted. It should be- this holds the battery down tight against the terminal prongs.
If the battery is good, inserted correctly (open terminal end in first), and the F601 still doesn't power up, then...ummm...

Canon 40d error 99

Try the following diagnosis steps: -

To isolate the cause of the issue, do the following: -

1. Turn off the camera.
2. Remove the lens, battery, and CF card.
3. Allow the camera to sit without power for approximately 20 minutes.
4. Insert only a fully charged battery, and turn on the camera.
5. Depress the shutter button as you would to take a picture.

Does the “ERR 99′ message appear? If so, the camera may be faulty and requires a service. If it does not, then: -

1. Turn off the camera.
2. Insert the CF card.
3. Turn on the camera.
4. Format the CF card in the camera.
5. Depress the shutter button as you would to take a picture.

Does the “ERR 99′ message appear? If so, then the CF card is faulty. Try a different card. If the message does not appear: -

1. Turn off the camera.
2. Clean the gold contacts on the lens by GENTLY rubbing them with a pencil eraser or soft cloth. Keeping the camera face pointing down, also clean the gold contacts on the camera, being careful that you do not let any debris fall into the camera body.
3. Reattach your lens.
4. Turn on the camera.
5. Depress the shutter button as you would to take a picture.
If the “ERR 99′ message only appears when one particular lens is attached, then that lens should be examined by a service technician.
If you see the “ERR 99′ with a different Canon lens attached, then the camera is faulty and should be serviced.

How do i replace internal battery on the minolta maxxum 7000? i replaced the AAA batteries, but it still just flashes ''film'' in window.I have no manual and dont know how to get the film out.HELP!

Unscrew battery compartment on the right grip, and remove the battery holder (AAA's in most Maxxum 7000's) In the compartment you should see a silver colored metal plate, held on by 6 small phillips screws. Unscrew these, and carefully lift the plate, and move it aside (there's a tiny wire soldered inside the plate, so don't break it off).

Inside there should be a CR2016 lithium button battery. Replace it, and reassemble in reverse order.
NOTE: This probably won't fix any issues regarding the removal of the film, as the 2016 is just a memory backup battery for when the main batteries are removed.

to remove the film, install fresh main batteries, turn on the camera via the "Lock" switch and rewind the film. on the back of the camera, just behind the LCD screen, above the film door, you will see a grey button marked "R". Push and hold it, while sliding the gray slide switch immediately to the left of it to the left. The film should now rewind.

When the film is done rewinding, open the back via the sliding latch on the left side of the body with the gray button in the middle. Push the button, while sliding the latch down.

To insert film, place the cartridge in the same place and orientation as the old roll, and pull the leader over to the red dot on the bottom right of the film compartment, and close the back. it should advance to the first frame if done correctly, or blink 0 if done wrong.

Blinking film on screen.

Sounds like the batteries went dead, and the internal lithium memory battery was already dead, causing it to forget the settings. install fresh batteries, and reset the ISO of youtr film by holding down the ISO button, and pressing the up/down buttons behind the shutter release. That should return it to normal, but you will have the same problem again whenever you are changing the batteries until you replace the lithium cell. To change the lithium cell, remove tha battery pack, and open the metal plate in the camera's battery compartment. The cell is a lithium CR 2016.

If that does not fix it, you may have a broken camera.

Maxxum 7000 camera lithium battery

The lithium button cell is under the metal plate where the battery holder attaches. There are six screws holding the plate to the camera. I believe the cell is a CR-2025.

That being said, replacing the lithium battery will only restore the cameras ability to remember your settings and frame counter when the regular batteries are not on the camera. It will not restore functions of the camera.

If the camera is not functioning properly, you have a power problem with the main batteries, not the memory backup cell

Loading batteries

Most Nikon manual focus cameras I see have the same battery chamber, and their battery loading procedure are exactly the same. Use a coin to unscrew the battery chamber at the buttom, the batteries should be instered into the battery holder (the unscrewed part) , with negative end goes in first. Also refer to the battery insertion direction on the side of the plastic part of the battery holder you will find it :)
