I will check what toshiba says about this problem, but in the meantime, make sure your tv is not overheating, make sure all airvents are open, you said you took it apart so I supose you cleaned all the dust and so on.
Hi A common problem for these is bad capacitors in the power supply, Remove the back from your Tv and look at the power supply on the left hand side.
You will see roughly around 9 x capacitors that are bulged / domed shaped on top usually these are valued at 3300uf 10V any that have bulged or leaked a brown like substance should be changed. This will cure the problem as they overheat being sat next to a heatsink that gets very hot! Try and change them for the same 3300uf but a higher voltage. Hope this helps in solving the problem, also take caution, because it contains high voltage
this is normal with rear projection tv's its from long usage when the tv isnt always in full screen mode. you can sometimes fix this by replacing the bulb/ or the color board for the projector. also you can replace the screen as it seems like it may also be do to image burn in if it wasnt always in full screen mode. (did this for my uncles Mitsubishi projection tv)
hello am rico, you need to replace your convergence ics (stk392 or 393 something esle). check for caps, fuses, resistors, cold solder in the boards. if you need more help, feel free to call at anytime. 602-810-7149.
Sounds like possibly cold solder connections on the convergence IC's I believe there are 3 in your tv. They are easy to spot big black IC's that have STK392-xxx stamped on them.. If your lucky you can solder the connections and be back in business. Sometimes because of the bad connections left unrepaired it will cause the ic's to fail then they would need replacing. If you have soldering skills you might try yourself. Be careful and make sure its unplugged. If you arent skilled at soldering I wouldnt recommend even trying it.
Ur tv have convergence problems,it dead.U must have soldering tools, solders and know how to solders to fix convergence problems.U must replaced 2 STk convergence ICS,and some or all it resistors.Tries websites Tvrepairworld.com,Tvrepairkits.com to buy a convergence kit to repair it ur self. The shop will cost U $300-$350 for parts and labors.
Yep, your problem is a relatively easy one to repair if you know how to solder. You better repair it before it blows the fuse though. There are two capacitors in the main power supply that are coming loose and need to be re soldered. There is a Toshiba service bulletin about it. They are marked C809 and C810 on the main power supply board. Good Luck
