Oven Door off kilter

I have a kitchen aid gas range/stove. The oven door has become partially dislodged as the right hinge has come about half way out of the slot. The door opens and closes but is out of alignment. I can't get the door back in place. What do I do.

SOURCE: kitchen aid stove problem

Peter,

First...be sure you cut power to the stove before you do anything. This is 220 volts and it can kill you. 220 Volts is based on two different lines of power coming to the stove, each of which is 110 volts...but opposite each other in phase. This may mean that some power to the stove is on and some is not. Let's go on.

I suspect a few things: First, the coil control for the burner is probably finished. What I also suspect is that it opened one of the two breakers (they are usually tied together in the panel and are either 40/50/60 amp units) causing some lights but no action.

What to do: Reset the breakers as a pair by turning them off and on. If one snaps off, you have a problem at the stove. If not,...which I doubt...you're in business.

Let's look at replacing the control. Shut the breakers. Now, take the burned control and remove it. Note the wiring positions if they are not on a plug. If they are terminals, tape the ends. Now, reset those breakers. If the other burners work, replace the control. Take the old one to the parts store. If it doesn't work, look around the burned area for broken wires. Repair and tape them up. Try again. Oh, and don't let anyone touch the stove while you're working with those breakers.

SOURCE: Kitchen Aid oven does not get up to temp.

you can only calibrate the oven + or - 35 degrees. if you are over 35 degrees off you will need to ohm your temperature probe to see if you get about 1280 ohms if you do then you need to replace the clock control. if you ohm the temperature probe and you are off by more than 10% then you will need to replace the probe. in most cases both the control and probe would need to be replaced.

Kitchen aid Supera oven door help

I can't speak for this model but all stove doors are relatively the same:
1) Open the door all the way
2) On the right and left door hinge there is a little latch that will most likely pull up towards you to lock the hinge open
3) Make sure this latch is all the way in the lock position
4) Lift the door as if you were closing it, except this time the hinge will not move and the door will start to lift off
5) Keep "closing" the door and gently pull away from the range to remove the door. Sometimes it gets a little stuck but just be patient with it and jiggle it gently.

Reverse this process to put the door back on.

Good luck!

How to remove a Maytag gas stove oven door (Maytag Model # MGR5755Qwd)

Hi.

Before removing the door you need to release the lock on the oven door hinges. Door hinge locks are slide mechanisms or pins located on top of the hinges Once lock is released you will be able to pull out the door by opening it a bit, then lifting it up and pulling out.

Here parts and diagrams for your oven: MGR5755QDW.

Dislodged oven door, can't re-attach.

All oven door hinges have small grove or tooth that must be engaged to opperate correctly.

Reinsert hinges one at a time, noting there is a small "tooth" or "gap" on each hinge.

This gap must engage with the lower part of opening in which you place door hinges. When you engage one tooth, do same on opposite hinge. Door now works correctly.

RE: f5 fault code; kdrp407hss

Solution!!! The hinges that Kitchen Aid uses are the problem. If the door is opened quickly & bottoms out, the steel in the hinge bends a little. So when you go to close the door it won't close all the way.... which causes problems with the latch , latch switch, oven cleaning, etc.

After taking apart the door several times I realized the hinge can be "fixed" without even removing the door. Follow the directions in the user manual for door removal... after inserting the little metal hinge stops (a drill bit or nail will work) Close the oven door till the stops won't allow it to close any further.....then gently but firmly, push forward. This will bend the hinge back to original shape. Remove the pins...Voila!!!

I wish kitchenaid used hardened steel or a thicker hinge....then this wouldn't happen.
