Can prostaff 3-9x40 # BRA40103 handle the reciol of a bolt action rifle

I think you will very unhappy if you mount it on the carry handle. I suggest removing it and getting a Nikon M-223 mount, YOu might also want to check out the M-223 line of scopes. The 3-12x42 with Rapid Action Turret might really surprise you. I don't have one freind who hasn't tried mine out and not bought one. Hard to argue with that. you must zero the scope on full mag =x9 at 100 yds first then it should be ok,

It is possible but not advisable. It should be done by a professional and requires special tools.
If you have a spring loaded gun, the binary recoil will destroy it in short time. If it's a PCP, you want a scope with on-the-fly adjustable parallax for range finding.

My advice would be to change this scope for a dedicated air-rifle scope.

You need either medium height or high height scope mounts to fix your problem

i would contact cabelas they have a full line of nikon rifle scopes or look up on line a company called brownells it is a gunsmith supply company they will have what ya need hope this helps ya and good luck
