My cursor keeps freezing and I cannot drag it across the screen. I have to shake it and it takes several times to do this. I have a pc/2 compatible mouse. Do you know what is causing the problem. When I check in the control panel, is says the device is working properly

You may have broken a solder connector in the mouse when shaking it. Try a different mouse, if it doesn't happen with the new mouse you know the old on is the problem.

Using picasa3 how do i create new folders

Have you clicked on the photo(s) you want to move and then drag them across to the new folder and 'drop' them into it? If you highlight several photos at same time by depressing CTRL and then using your cursor arrows to highlight the additional photos you should be able to move batches of images at the same time.

Have you tried double clicking on the bar right at the top of the screen next to the minimize, maximise, close buttons? By double clicking in this area it'll change the size/shape of the browser screen, you can then reposition the window to the top left of your screen and then click and drag the bottom right hand side of his window once the cursor turns into a double headed arrow.

The cursor on my pc freezes..

Temporary Solution

1) Click Start, then Click Control Panel

2) Double Click Mouse

3) Enable the cursor trail

You will be able to see your mouse, even after the original cursor freezes on screen.

Steps that can fix the problem.

This may also solve your problem. ONLY do if you are sure that you know how.

1) Right Click on MyComputer icon. Then Click Properties.

2) Click on Hardware Tab, then Click on Device Manager.

3) Uninstall your mouse AND keyboard. Connect your mouse directly to the USB.

Then reboot your computer (restart) and let the mouse reinstall automatically.

Keep your computer in shape and you will have less problem

My cursor slides off of the screen (by itself) when I click & drag!

Seems there is something internally wrong in your mouse or you use the mouse on a very strange material base. I have heard that optical mouses can have strange behavior when used on glass tables or thick woolen carpets, a mouse pad would solve it. If that does not work and it's still under warranty, just ask for replacement or repair.
