Question about HP Photosmart 2710 All-In-One InkJet Printer

1 Answer

I have a HP Photosmart 2710 All in One with jammed paper.

I cannot completely remove all the jammed paper. Large pieces are stuck underneath the four "plates" inside, just under the metal rod that goes across. Is there anyway to make this area more accessible??? Thanks so much for any help!

How do i fix a carriage jam

If you are getting a 'carriage jam' error as soon as you turn on your printer with no tasks in progress, then check for any piece of paper stuck in the carriage. Remove the paper carefully. If the paper tears, part of it might remain inside the paper path and damage the product.

Follow the steps for fix HP Printer Carriage Jam

  • Turn off the printer and open it to see where the paper is stuck.
  • Manually move the carriage toward the opposite side.
  • Check the paper path and remove any piece of paper or any other object that is stuck in the path.
  • Reconnect the power cord and turn on the printer.

Make sure there is no paper stuck inside in the paper. may be there is small piece of paper stuck inside
Just unplug the power and open the cover and remove the toner or cartridges from the printer and manually try to roll the roller and remove the paper.
Hope this helps. Please rate my response.
Thanks.
Have a good day.

An error message keeps coming up to clear a carriage jam. There is no paper jammed. I have checked the front and opened the back door, unplugged and replugged, and pressed OK. Same message keeps coming up

Hello there This is only a try it may or may not work.
Generally when this happens, something has fallen into the printer, or a piece of paper has been jammed in there.

First step, remove the ink cartridge, and turn the printer upside down and gently shake it, see if anything comes out.

If nothing goes, or you can't hear anything rattling around, get a piece of cardstock paper (60lb or heavier) and gently push this through the printer, to see if it will help push out what might be stuck in there.

And gave the rode that the ink slides on a good clean and maybe a bit oil on cloth and wipe the rod with it.

Please come back and just gave a vote, it will gave me some satisfaction to know am helping some one so I will keep on helping.

Won't turn on

When removing jammed paper from a printer you need to be very careful as printers have a paper sensor which is very sensitive and it can be damaged if you pull the paper to hard. I first need to know, the printer doe not turn on or it does not print ? What brand of computer is it ?

HP Photosmart 2710 (Wireless)

Introduction
The flashing error code that indicates a jammed printer is the digital-age equivalent of a
flat tire. Sooner or later it happens to everyone, so you'd better know how to get things
moving again if you want to finish your print job.
Instructions
Difficulty: Moderate Steps
1 Step One Turn the printer off and on to see if it can automatically clear some or all of
the jam. Many printers provide an error-code listing on the front panel display for the area
where the jam occurred. If your printer shows an error code, be sure and check the printer
manual to see if that identifies the area of the printer where the jam occurred.

2Step Two Turn off the printer.
3Step Three Remove any paper trays. Inspect them for wrinkled or damaged paper.

4Step Four Open any other doors that give access to the printer's paper path and to the
toner or ink cartridge.
5Step Five If necessary, remove the toner or ink cartridge. Place it in a bag or away from
light to avoid damaging it.

6Step Six Click to enlargeIf you find a piece of jammed paper, remove it by holding it with
both hands and pulling firmly (see A). The goal is to keep the paper from tearing. If
several pieces are jammed together, try pulling out the middle piece first to loosen the
jam. SEE PICS http://www.imagehost.ro/pict/0104361047293b9a4006c.jpg

7Step Seven Click to enlargeIf the paper does tear, try rotating the roller gears manually
to free the paper (see B). Don't force anything, though.SEE PICS
http://www.imagehost.ro/pict/0104365847293bcaa9870.jpg

8Step Eight Replace the toner or ink cartridge and paper trays, close any doors you opened
and turn the printer back on.
9Step Nine If the printer paper jam message still appears, then there is still some paper in
the printer.
 Reinspect the paper path.
