Help My spacesaver is continously blowing my circuit breaker. I believe it started out because the exaust tube fell off, and I was not aware. I have since fixed the tube, but it is still blowing the breaker. Any suggestions? Thanks

Jinx, start with the power cord and terminal block where the cord connects. Sometimes if there is a loose connection the terminal will arc and cause a burnt wire or short. I see this a lot on stacked units. Make sure to disconnect power when checking. Check this first and post back, Catriver.

Where are the power window fuses on a 1989 buick century

Power window uses a circuit breaker, should be in fuse box. Metallic looking piece, hopefully your fuse box is labelled so you know which circuit breaker is which. The circuit breaker can be hot to the touch, so be aware. If a problem with power windows, it may trip the circuit breaker and none of your windows will work. After everything cools off, the circuit breaker may start working again.

Can you blow the braker box on 1992 softail...

You don't have a "breaker box" on your Softail. You do have a main breaker that is rated at 30 amps. Then you have three or four more that are usually rated between 10 and 15 amps. A circuit breaker is a thermo-electrical device. If more current flows through the device than it is rated to handle, it will heat a bi-metal strip that will cause the breaker to "break". Once it "breaks", the current flow stops, the strip cools off, and the breaker resets. If the ignition switch is still on and the current draw still exceeds the breaker's rating, it will trip again. It will continue to do this until the switch is turned off or the reason for the excessive current draw remedied. If the breaker is tripped too many times, it will quit working. It is designed to protect a circuit and continously break and reset like a turn signal flasher.

Good Luck

Spacesaver powers off 2 seconds after resetting clock and time...

The clue is that you have to reset the clock. You are losing power somehow. the Main Board thinks it is being unplugged and it resets the clock and you have to start all over. The fact that after so many times it will finally work tells me that whatever bad connection you have is finally getting hot enough to expand and make a good enough connection to keep working. Intermittant connections are the worse to find. A lot of trial and error to find the problem. can be bad fuse and fuse holder ( in the unit), bad outlet, loose wire at circuit breaker, loose wire at outlet. Even a loose breaker where it snaps onto the buss bar in the Breaker Box. Etc, it an really drive you nuts trying to find it. Try the unit in a totally different area making sure it is on a compleately different circuit breaker and see what it does, if the problem follows the unit, the problems is in the unit. If not, electrical problems, outlet, breaker, panel,

FRIDGE IS BLOWING THE CIRCUIT BREAKER

Most likely you have a bad or weak circuit breaker. Consult an electrician for breaker change out. Make sure that it isn't hooked up with a GFI plug. They will not work on a GFI.

Viewsonic VA1930WM - Dead

Inside the monitor there are two backlight tubes about 8inches long and the thickness of a pencil. A fall could easily have broken the backlights. Probably should take it in for repair.

Roper (REX5634PQO) dryer will not start

This fuse mounts right beside the filter housing. Maybe you unpluge a wire while fiddling with the housing. If this fuse blows then the dryer will not run.8ab116a.jpg

Where do I find the fuse?

yes you do and this is not reall advisable as there is high voltage components inside.thre is normally a fault with the machine if it blows a fuse.if you want to still try then make sure yoiu unplug it and short the plug on some metal to get rid of any stored charge.the main things to blow a fuse is the door switches sticking, the bulb blowing or a fault with the high voltage system which you would need a special multimeter to yest, hope this helps

GE Spacesaver microwave trips the circuit breaker

Since power = voltage X current, 1.58kW / 120VAC = 13.166A

So this unit should be fine on a 15A breaker unless the breaker is bad, the wiring or a connection is loose somewhere between the breaker and the microwave, or the microwave's magnetron or high voltage transformer are failing and drawing extra current.

Microwaves should really be on the own separate breaker if at all possible. Plus, the more a breaker trips, the more work out it gets.

Have you measured the voltage at the outlet? If that's off, current and power will be affected. It should be about 110-125VAC.

A good power test for outlet and wiring integrity is a toaster, toaster oven, or hair dryer rated at about 1500 watts.

If it doesn't run and heat steadily, then there may be a problem with the house wiring or breaker.

If it passes this test, the problem is likely in the microwave.

We're happy to help and we appreciate your thoughtful rating of our answer.

Tripping of circuit breaker

Check what other appliances are on your circuit. What goes off when the breaker is tripped. You may need to relocate the microwave to a different circuit. Try to stay away from the refrigerator or AC circuits.
