Picture Flickers Briefly Shortly After Power on

When I turn the TV on I will see the bottom half of the screen flicker a few times after a minute or so. It stops and then doesn't seem to do it again the entire time it is on. The TV is only a few weeks old, and seems like it has always done this. Could a simple setting, such as the LNA make a difference? Other TVs in the house can be set to the same channel and they do not experience the flickering. Any suggestions? Thank you!

It appears to be related to the tuner because I tried to recreate the problem with a DVD via the component input and the picture looks great the whole time. I also tried setting up the TV to only use antenna 2, but you can't set it up that way. I wanted to see if it was only one of the tuners.

I sent the TV in on an RMA.

If the set is only a few weeks old you should put a claim for a warranty repair or exchange I believe is the back light(lamp)doing the flickering and should not be doing that at all and it will not go away by itself,it might get worst. Let Us know how it goes or if you need more information.

Fault with the main power supply regulator board. Check and replace damaged component/s at its main power regulator [SMPS] section circuit. Contact any service technician. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Surf the site with patience. Pull up older posts.
It will be best to replace the power supply regulator board as card basis rather than making "Surgery" to it; which usually will make loss for both money and time. Even though you can make it right, it will cost around an amount equal to the cost of a new board; including the cost of spare parts + service charge. More to say, most of the spare parts to it will be difficult to get from open electronic spare part market. This is true to most of the flat panel TV power supply boards; irrespective of its brand and size.

Rca 42in full hd lcd picture flickers

If the picture on your TV flickers, there may be a simple fix. Here are some possible answers and suggested solutions:

1. Your set-top box may need a simple reboot. Unplug the power connection to the set-top box for about 30 seconds. Reconnect the power and turn the set-top box back on.

2. Check all of your cables for a loose connection by tightening each one with your fingers.Flickers can sometimes be caused by bends in rigid cables, too.

3. If your picture flickers to a black or blue screen, you could have a bad set-top box. Contact your cable or satellite service provider about installing a new one.

4. If you still have audio, the flickering could also mean that you have a failing backlight.

For additional troubleshooting information, check out the chart at TV flickering for more solutions. I hope this helps!

Plasma tv takes time to start then picture flickers really badly then picture returns as normaal for a few hours then goes black but still has sound i turn off tv for a number of hours & repeat the...

This tv seem to have two problems. The problems that the tv take a long time the tv to turn on,the tv power supply board have dying capacitors most likely. That the board where the power a/c cord plug into it.The picture flickers badly this problems is harder to determine because this causes by two backlight buffers boards X,Z buffers boards could be either one it is dying. This tv should get an estamate by a shop or shops and repair it by them, bcause the tv must have to be doing replacing x munbers capacitors components to the tv power supply board and alot more work to trouble shoot and to detrmine which of the buffers boards it is the causes of to the picture screen to be badly flickers and replacing it.

Can be either one of three things 1) logic board, power supply, or unfortunately most likely is your panel. But if I were you I'd get a hold of Toshiba warranty center to diagnose because then they could check voltages with toshiba tech support.

Looks like your picture tube is dying, or there is a bust capacitor(s) inside...I'd recommend taking it to a service shop to get it repaired.
