outside temp does not work? Battries have been changed

  • Anonymous Dec 02, 2008

Same problem. Installed new batteries in the remote temp transmitter and now no outdoor temp display. Removed and re-installed batteries several times, waiting each time they were removed for an extended period of time. I've had this unit several years, and it always does this! There should be a "sync" button somewhere that forces syncronization!

Try changing the battereis in the CLOCK. When the batteries in the clock start getting low, the clock does not pick up the outside transmitter.

  1. New batteries in transmitter.
  2. New batteries in clock.
  3. Wait for temperature reading from outside appears.
  4. Set time zone.
  5. Leave the clock alone, from 10 minutes to 24 hours. It will set itself.

Outside temp on La Croose atomic clock says HH.h everything else works fine. Changed batteries in sender, it is sending signal.

Remove both the battery in the sender and the home unit. Insert the outside unit and then the inside unit. Make sure the inside one is new. If that one is at all low, it won't pick up the signal.

After changing batteries in both the outside sensor and the inside clock I no longer receive a reading for outside temp.

I have a thermometer with an outside sensor. It's necessary to remove both batteries, wait a few minutes, then replace batteries - sensor first. It may take a few minutes for the inside clock to pick up the signal. If it doesn't, try again with new batteries.

My skyscan model 87800 will not show outside temp. i have changed batteries but still get nothing on outside temp

Look in the manual, There should be a section on remote sensors, they usualy have a "sync" button on them. and hit main unit first then remote.

The outside temp sender won't work. We put new batteries in it, but it does not send a signal. It will not put an outside temp on the clock.

Simple, the instructions state that when changing the batteries on the outside temp. sensor, you must also change the batteries on the main clock unit. I had same problem when I changed the sensor batteries until I pulled the batteries from the clock and it reset fine. ( Sensor batteries first, then clock batteries. ) The clock will reset to atomic time overnight so don't worry if it doesn't read correctly at first.

Outside temp not measuring correctly

I keep the outside unit of our in/out set under a coffee can shaded under a bench; one could argue the aesthetics but shielding it from wind and sun is mandatory otherwise one can get record temps pretty often.
The outside units generally transmit to the receivers only every few minutes to keep battery consumption down so moving them won't necessary gie you an immediate change.
