How to fix a very dim display

sirs
What do i need to do when dispalay? very dim. it is that way with good batteries
and 9 volt transformer. Also there was no transfer included in package but instructions say plug in transformer. It does say barreries are not included but nothing abouit the tranformer not beong included.otherwise i like the phone very much
