My heater turns on the gas starts but then it shuts down

My heater starts and fires up as normal in the past the blower would turn on about 15 seconds to 30 seconds.now the blower never turns on the unit shuts down and the digtial teromstatgoes blank. The blower works bacause it turns on with the centeral air.i replaced the blower about 2 months and the air worked great.im wondering if it is the termostat due to the fact that after the heaters fires up for a min it goes into a safe mode and shuts down but when you look at the theromstat up stairs it goes blank but when you move it to off and it cools down it starts to show the temp.

I have a Lennox Conservator III G16 and when I turn the termostat up to turn on the blower want come on, but on occassions my wife said that she tapped on the side of the furnance and the blower might start working. I vaccumed out both blower area and the upper furnance compartment, but still the blower want come on. Our dyer is located in the same room as the furnance, we had a HVAC associate check it out and he stated that we needed to vent our dyer outside to prevent dust buildup and a safety hazard. What do you think is wrong with our blower and we have not found a solution or method to vent our dyer outside as of yet.

Try to locate the red and white wires either behind your thermostat or on the furnace itself. Jump them out and see if the furnace stays on. If you do it at the furnace you will need to hold the door switch down. If it runs fine, you have found your problem (the thermostat) if it goes out again, the furnace will display a number of blinks on the circuit board. Look on the reverse side of the furnace access door and there should be an Error Code chart to get you started figuring where to look next.

Furnace blower won't turn on

You may need to replace the sail switch. It senses the fan speed and when it connects the gas valve should open and furnace should fire up.

Under the gas valve is a removable panel. On models of that era there should also be a second panel behind the first. remove both.

the pilot light should be clearly visible.

If no pilot, turn the gas valve to OFF. wait 60 seconds. locate the tubes from the gas valve to the pilot location. turn the valve to pilot, and with a long match or grill lighter lit, place flame at the pilot location and press down on the pilot button beside the main valve.

pilot should light. If not shut off the gas and call a technician. If yes, hold the pilot button for 60 seconds, then slowly release. Pilot should stay lit. If not, shut off gas and replace thermocouple, start relight sequence over. If pilot stays lit, replace inner cover and adjust temp to 120 deg. If heater fires up, replace outer cover. Done.

If heater does not light, replace gas valve or entire unit. Water heaters have a limited life expectancy, and if my recollection is correct your unit is 10yrs past warranty.

How old is your furnace? Does it have a circuit board that controls everything, or are there separate controls for each function?

Pilot lights up but would not fire up into heating, I have brivis buffalo 85

This is the proper cycle of a furnace and what should happen.

Inducer motor kicks on, it runs for a little bit, about 3-5 seconds, then you should see a bright yellow glow, this is the igniter, shortly after, you should hear a click and the gas should start to flow, almost immediately it turns to a blue flame. Then your igniter should turn off and the blower motor start up.

If the pilot turns on and the gas ignites, then shortly after the unit shuts off, chances are this is your blower motor. It is not starting up, then the heat limit is reached in your unit and the safety shuts it off.

My heater starts and then after about 3 seconds shuts off

Either , you really don't have good pressure (below 18 PSI on filter) or your water pressure swith is defect.
Try placing your filter on "recir" and fire the heater , if it fires and stays on .....it's definitely your pressure -back wash.
hope it helps

Heater Burner ignites but main blower motor will not turn on.

it sound like the blower motor may be seizing up. try spining the blade by hand to see if it feels free or not. the motor could be trying to turn but can then tripping itself out on overload. (most motors have built in safety overloads which will trip during an overcurrant event. aka too many amps.) you may have to replace blower motor

Thumping sound under dash when start or shut down.

I take a shoot here you can try this. try pulling the fuse or fuses that go to your heater blower and heater controls. If it stops check your heater blower it may be going bad, if you find nothing there, leave the blower unplugged and try turning your key on and see if you still hear it. If so I would think that the heater control is mess up and open and close the air blend door or you may have a wire shorted out under the dash some where.
