My speakers are making a strange noise every so often while music/sound is playing. I wish I could describe the sound, but it doesn't sound as if the speakers are blown, and it's not a beeping sound, it it just a strange ripping sound sort of?

Vertical white lines appear on screen and music will play, beeping and a "chopper" noise have also occured. Replaced motherboard in Dec 08.

To isolate the issue.please connect the notebook to external monitor with the help of VGA port.(Blue PORT) on the notebook.if it good with out any lines.you need to fix the LCD screen of the Notebook.

Loud and strange noises

The built-in speaker amp or the volume switch may be going bad on you. A quick test is to disconnect the speaker set and replace it with a headphone or another working speaker set. If it behaves normally then the problem is in your original speakers, if not then you may have software driver issues or less likely an issue with the sound card. Let us know what you find out.
