DVD/VCR stuck in Progressive scan mode

With NO DISK in the DVD player PRESS PLAY, (display will say "no disk" or something similar) then PRESS STOP AND HOLD FOR 5-10 SECS.

Our DVD was stuck on Progressive Scan Mode for over 1 year, this fixed it. I had tried the press stop, press stop and hold while playing a movie, but not while there was no disk.

Pressing play while there was no disc in it and then holding the stop button works! Its a lot faster fix then i had to do before, I use to have to toggle back and forth from input to input just to see the screen for a fraction of a second and try to move the setting back off progressive scan every time someone would accidently put it on progressive scan. Make sure your t.v. can broadcast a progressive scan signal before you try progressive scan settings.

disconnect the power from the system, then remove the three video audio cords from the tv so absolutely no power is reaching the system then wait a few minutes and plug it in. it worked for me and now im watching movies again.
