I am running Windows 7 pro 64bit, and it loads up the evic no problem without installing others drivers. It's a Toshiba HDD inside. Windows told me so.

FAT 32 will require 2 partitions since FAT32 is limited to 1.99TB effectively. so when partitioning the drive, make 2 1.5 TB partitions then you should be able to format FAT32.
I'd use Disk Management in Windows to partition and format the drive since it is external.

i suggest you upgrade to vista as xp does not recognise mp3 players

The power locks are controled by the electronic vehicle information center(EVIC) located inside the
overhead console. From you're description it sounds
like the EVIC is recieving false or intermitent signals,
or there could be a problem with the EVIC itself.
Before going to the dreaded dealer,you can try reprograming the EVIC and turn off the auto lock option. The instructions for this procedure should be
in the owners manual if not you can check out a mitchells or chiltons repair manual at the local library
either of these will have all the info you need to turn
off the auto lock, if you choose to diy.

Fixed. I found that the machine reset itself through holding in the stop button for about 15-20 seconds.
